Well I never? Someone’s only gone and put this reprobate on the cover of @obsmagazine ! What an honour 🙏🏻 For me personally, the last couple of years have been some of the most productive, diverse, exhilarating and enjoyable of my career. A year of playing Nathan Detroit in #GuysAndDolls @_bridgetheatre , kicking off BAFTA nominated #TheLongShadow @itv as Sydney Jackson, an @olivierawards nomination and now the release of 8 part Benjamin Franklin mini series #Franklin @appletv opposite @michaelkirkdouglas . An exhaustive, landmark accumulation of work that seemed fitting to acknowledge and celebrate in my profile interview with Alex @moshakis . My huge thanks and appreciation to him and the entire creative team for making it happen. Also a special mention to the amazing @themildmayclub for being such a wonderful location to shoot in. A nostalgic trip back for me having filmed both #VeraDrake and #MadeinDagenham there 🤍🪩

Actor @danielmays9 provides our editor, Joe, a tour of his neighborhood, Crouch End. The hilarious walk includes historical info, discussions and an extensive conversation regarding serial killers.
We also guess how many times Danny has notably played a police officer 🚨
Shout out to the ace @k_mackertich for the @timeoutlondon ‘Love Thy Neighbourhood’ podcast which I loved being a guest on last week. Wonderful trip back down memories lane chatting all things Crouch End including flat sharing with ‘The Caddy,’ falling head over heels for my future trouble & strife, baby duties in Priory Park, filming Vera Drake & Des there, a visit to my personal trainer Browne @equalsresults and ending with a pint of the back stuff in the Queens (sorry Browne! 😋) Well worth a listen if you get the chance! 🎧
Get @reshare_app • @k_mackertich One of the best actors in Britain, @danielmays9 is also a really funny, garrulous fella. He showed me around his old neighbourhood, Crouch End, and told me all about weird method actors, Ben Affleck’s village-sized trailer and how it feels to have played 4,000 policemen. I wanted to have a proper pint with him after this, and after listening you will too.

Before ‘Believe Me’ begins tonight I’d love to acknowledge the three actresses at the centre of the drama and the beautifully judged and heartbreaking performances they’ve delivered. It was always our writer Jeff Pope’s intention to place the victims of John Worboys at the heart of the story and to uncover the injustice at how they were failed by the Met Police and the wider judicial system. What they were asked to perform was incredibly difficult, demanding acting that was thoroughly researched, detailed, emotional, nuanced and above all else fearless. I wasn’t, of course, privy to their scenes outside of the taxi, but I was so unbelievably moved by all three girls when I watched the show for the first time. Their collective work with director Julia Ford is a wonder to behold and a fitting testament to what the those brave woman must have endured. So, to Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Aasiya Shah and Miriam Petche my heartfelt congratulations. It was an honour to share this experience with you ❤️
‘Believe Me’ Episode 1 tonight 9pm ITV1.
All 4 Episodes available NOW to stream ITVX.
Love these humans ❤️ Epic theatre trip this week @donmarwarehouse for a reunion with the entire The Same Deep Water As Me cast. We performed Nick Payne’s personal injury lawyers play there back in 2013 and we’ve all remained firm friends ever since supporting each other whenever we can. It fills my heart to see everyone doing so well and keeping busy.
This Friday it was the turn of the incomparable and ever impressive Monica Dolan in Mass adapted from the Fran Kranz film. A devastating play about the consequences and fallout from a mass school shooting in America. A true actors piece, you will struggle to find better emotionally wrought and spellbinding performances than Monica, Lyndsey Marshal, Adeel Akhtar and Paul Hilton. It was such a privilege to witness such incredible work. Huge congratulations to all involved 👏🔥
A £40,000 win, a bottle of champagne and a request that won’t take ‘no’ for an answer...
Sometimes, the most dangerous situations start with a simple, persistent request 🗣️
