In a crazy turn of events I’ve been nominated for a Silver Logie for Best Lead Actress in a comedy, for Gold Diggers.
I know it’s sappy but I’d really love to thank someone very special to me. @clairelovering was cast as my big sister and lead in the show. I’d done a day of acting here and there on things before I was cast as Marigold in Gold Diggers, but to suddenly be doing a lead role where I was in almost every scene was a lot of pressure and I had no idea if I was doing a good job or not because everyone always says ‘you’re doing great’. Claire and I became so close so fast and I don’t know how I would have done it if I didn’t have someone who was so completely generous to work with. We would spend all day on set together, then go home and learn the next days lines together. She never got annoyed with me asking basic acting questions or telling everyone on set she was off to do a ten two (film lingo for poo) every time she went to do a ten one (wee). It’s been well over a year since we wrapped and we don’t need to see each other all the time, but we do. I just really love her and it feels weird for me to post a photo of me and not her.
