Saying it loud and sassy for the people in the back šŸ—£ļø Ownership is the prerequisite to whatever life you imagine for yourself. You want to be a great trainer? Own your training. You want to be rich? Own your finances. You want to be a good parent? Own your inner child and ancestral traumas. Every moment of every day we have the CHOICE to be a different version of ourselves. So who will you choose to be? Let me know in the comments šŸ‘‡šŸ¼šŸ‘‡šŸ¼šŸ‘‡šŸ¼ PS if you are looking for a dynamic speaker or emcee for your events, I’m your girl. My passion is inspiring you to OWN YOUR SHIT, loud and proud.

One of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves is learning to let go of the need to be understood by everyone around us. Not everyone will have the capacity, context, or willingness to see your heart clearly. And peace begins the moment you stop abandoning yourself trying to force them to. Send this to someone who needs the reminder. #selfleadership #emotionalintelligence #healing #ownership #personalgrowth

One of the deepest fears we carry as humans is the fear of being misunderstood. And if we aren’t careful, we can spend years exhausting ourselves trying to explain, prove, defend, and over-perform our way into safety. I know because this is probably one of my biggest opportunities for growth as a human. Wanting people to understand my heart, my intentions and my humanity. But one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves is learning to let go of the need to be understood by everyone around us. Not everyone will have the capacity, context, or willingness to see your heart clearly. And peace begins the moment you stop abandoning yourself trying to force them to. If you make it your life’s mission to control how others perceive you, you will exhaust yourself trying to earn safety through explanation. I know because I’ve done it time and time again. Over-explaining. Over-sharing. Over-clarifying. Trying to make sure everyone understands my heart, my intentions, my humanity. But at some point, leadership becomes allowing people to misunderstand you without abandoning yourself in the process. Because the truth is: Not everyone will have the capacity, context, emotional maturity, or willingness to see you clearly. And if your sense of safety depends on being fully understood by everyone around you, you will spend your life shape-shifting for approval instead of standing firmly in your truth. Some of the most exhausting seasons of my life came from trying to explain myself into love, forgiveness, belonging, or safety. Now? I’ve learned that peace sometimes looks like telling the truth once and then letting people have their own experience with it. That’s not coldness. That’s self-respect. #micdropmonday #selfleadership #emotionalintelligence #ownership #personalgrowth

Sometimes we get exactly what we pray for… And yet we aren’t ready to receive it fully. It doesn’t make us weak or broken or undeserving. It just (hopefully) makes us realize that there is still work to be done. I’ve gone through a lot of hard shit in my life. Grief that almost killed me. Abandonment that almost destroyed me. But the thing that has hurt me most of all? Not being able to fully receive all the gifts placed in front of me. Not allowing what wants to happen. Not remembering that I am worthy, not because of my status or success, but simply because I am. Call it self-sabotage, unhealed wounds or a nervous system not quite ready to hold the intensity of the love I had called in… I dropped the ball. No, I slammed that shit so hard it shattered into a million pieces along with my heart. I’m not mad though, I’m humbled. I’m not disappointed though, I’m grateful. For in the pauses between my ā€œwhat the actual fxckā€ moments, I remember that I usually meet my most powerful self here. On the floor, on my knees, sweeping up the glass shards of what I’ve just destroyed. Cut by the sharpness of my actions. Bleeding from the scabs of old wounds reopened. I meet the real me. I meet little me. Desperately trying to underhand how to be loved in a world that taught her she was unlovable unless she was perfect. Desperately trying to figure out how to make the ball whole once again. And after some time, I rise. Still bloody. Still with shards of glass in my hands. But hopeful this time. Wiser this time. Eventually, ready to begin anew. This poem is an ode to this sometimes paralyzing, confusing, wild journey of being a human in search of love. And not just any old love. A love that echos through the cosmos and lets my ancestors finally rest in peace. I know I’ll get there. It just wasn’t today. And that’s ok, because I will continue to pray. - @richesartgallery you’ve been a place where I can express all of me. There aren’t words to express my gratitude for a space that is helping me rewrite my stories that I can indeed be seen in my messiness and still be loved. Still be understood. Thank you.

PSA: Emotional capacity is a leadership skill. Not a personal development hobby. Everyone wants to lead when things are clear, calm, and certain. But real leadership? It asks you to hold tension. To sit in the in-between. To not abandon yourself when things feel uncomfortable. Most people aren’t lacking strategy. They’re lacking the capacity to stay. And your capacity to lead others will never exceed your capacity to be with yourself. #selfleadership #emotionalintelligence #leadershipdevelopment #personalgrowth

The life you want is on the other side of what you refuse to feel. You don’t need another tool or another plan. You need to feel what you’ve been avoiding. Productivity has always been my scapegoat. If I stayed busy enough, I wouldn’t have to sit with myself. But as I’ve learned (sometimes the hard way)... Every time I actually slow down and feel what’s there, everything shifts. Not from doing more but from being with what is. #MicDropMonday #SelfTrust #EmotionalMastery #OwnYourShit #FeelToHeal

Over the last few weeks, I’ve learned some of the most important lessons of my life. I used to think self-trust was built by always getting it right. By making the aligned decision. By not repeating old patterns. But over the last few weeks? Self-trust has looked like staying with myself after I get it wrong. Sometimes when we get what we prayed for… It’s not a destination. It’s an initiation. And initiations don’t always look how we think they will. Sometimes we’re given opportunities to practice ownership by abandoning ourselves for a moment in the process. Sometimes we pray for one thing and then act out of alignment when it arrives. And that doesn’t make us bad people. It makes us people growing into the capacity of who we know we’re meant to be. That’s the work. This is how deeper levels of self-trust are built. And that might be the most important kind of self-trust there is.

This was a hard reminder for me… Sometimes we pray for one thing and act out of alignment with it. Sometimes we get the opportunity and we fumble it. And sometimes what we thought was the destination, was actually an initiation. This is your reminder that two things can exist at once: You can take ownership and still hold yourself with compassion. You can grieve what you lost without making it mean you’ll never have it again. You can not understand the why yet and still trust yourself to move forward. Trusting the process isn’t about pretending it all makes sense. It’s about deciding that no matter what, you won’t abandon yourself. And that might be the most important kind of trust there is. Send this to someone who needs the reminder. Happy #wigglewednesday, my friends. #RadicalOwnership #SelfLeadership #TrustTheProcess #emotionalmastery
