🩵🌒 Looking forward to @expochicago this week! I'll be showing in a 3 person booth with @seizan_ny . I'll be in person thurs-sat, booth 125, April 24-27 🫶 Crystal Deeps, 60x48", oil on canvas, 2025 . . Press Release: Danielle Winger (b. 1986, Nevada, USA) creates contemplative landscapes with bold brushstrokes and striking colors that evoke both physical places and emotional states. Drawing inspiration from German Romantic traditions, she approaches landscape as both subject and metaphor—where mountains become paths to transcendence, deserts embody profound solitude, and moonlit forests take on human qualities. Her deeply personal meditative spaces invite viewers to explore themes of sublimity and the divine.  Winger’s works have been shown at König Bergson in Munich (2025), Lamb Gallery in London (2024), and Red Arrow Gallery in Nashville (2021, 2023). At SEIZAN Gallery, she has exhibited in The Shape of Water (2024, Tokyo) and participated in Art Taipei (2024) and Art Tokyo (2024). Her work has been published in ArtMaze Magazine and New American Paintings Midwest #173 (2024). She lives and works in La Fontaine, Indiana. #daniellewinger #landscapepaintingnow #chicagoexpo2025

Installation views 💫☀️🩵 @koeniggalerie GROUP SHOW WHERE EARTH MEETS SKY KÖNIG MUNICH | NEUBAU 5 APRIL – 3 AUGUST 2025 KÖNIG BERGSON presents WHERE EARTH MEETS SKY, a group exhibition of contemporary painting that reimagines the landscape as a dynamic space shaped by culture, memory, and perception. Featuring the works of 26 artists on the ground and first floor of the Neubau at Bergson Kunstkraftwerk, the exhibition challenges traditional views of the landscape, not as a static, natural entity, but as a constantly evolving concept. Each artist brings a unique, abstract approach to the theme of “landscape,” pushing the boundaries of representation and distilling the natural world into new visual languages. The landscape is not simply depicted – it becomes a vehicle for exploring our environment’s psychological, emotional, and political dimensions. Through layers of texture, color, and form, the artists shift our focus from the physical landscape to its symbolic meanings – revealing how our perception of nature is shaped by history, memory, and collective identity. From the tension between figuration and abstraction to the subversion of natural motifs, WHERE EARTH MEETS SKY invites viewers to reconsider their relationship with the land – both real and imagined. The paintings reflect a world in constant flux, shaped by both visible and invisible forces. This multifaceted dialogue encourages a reflection on how we engage with the spaces around us, personally and collectively. Leaving this little painting here as evidence of it's first life, when I loved it so much but couldn't help myself from painting back into it. Or maybe I'll grow up and leave it alone. #Yolo

I'm experiencing a bit of a coming home to myself as I've released a few obligations so that I can re-set and reclaim my studio time as a place for experimenting and finding. I am embracing some of the quicker and more intuitive ways I used to paint. I've been working back on small pieces of panel, not refining as much and letting myself be surprised again. I've had a turbulent year that I haven't been super open about, people I love who have been very sick, my own scary health issues that are still in the diagnosing phase, we've had car accidents and broken bones, surgeries and chaos... my faith has been a solace in the storm, and my studio a sanctuary. While at times its felt like I'm drowning, I'm recognizing the refining that it has also produced. Hopefully, things only get weirder from here 🫶 . . #daniellewinger #contemporarylandscapepainting

“In my paintings I honor the landscape as both itself and a metaphor. Shaped by the expressive spirit of German Romanticism, I paint emotionally resonant landscapes that suggest the natural world is as much a vessel for emotion and memory as it is a physical space. Historically, in both spirituality and mythology, mountain imagery is seen as dark terrain, feral, deserted, holy and stripped of self. Untamed and wild landscape, in all its apathy, elicits a primal pull to enter it, to be joined with it and to know it intimately. Seeking the solace of empty places, I create intensely personal portraits of quiet, meditative spaces that encourage contemplation and investigation of self, sublimity, and the divine.” Danielle Winger Lavender Moon, 2026 Oil on canvas 50 x 40 in 127 x 101.6 cm On view in Austin through March 31
