My version of Alone Again (Naturally) by Gilbert O’Sullivan. We do it kind of upbeat but please do listen to the original version because it’s an incredible song. I love how he combines the sad lyric with a more whimsical melody. It truly is like life. How the good and bad all go together. It’s almost funny sometimes, and my favorite art captures that contradiction. Great performances here by Colson, David, and Ben, all captured by the great Michael Stephenson who was engineering the session. Thank you guys for your great music and energy!!! Also check out the Nina Simone version as well because she puts her own spin on the tune, rewriting the lyrics to tell her own story. Some of the most moving music I’ve heard in my life. Throwback to a really fun gig last year play duo with a great musician and friend @nicholascassarino at the @timessquareedition . I love playing with this guy, I’ve learned a lot from him in the last couple years playing in the @olivetreemadmen band. We’re playing Corcovado here. I first learned this song off of Oscar Peterson‘s album we get requests. That album changed my life inhigh school, and this song is one of my favorites. LOOK OUT people .. this is the beginning of my transition into a smooth jazz saxophone player. And last but not least..
