“Stillness” - 1/04/26
A surrender.
The slow release of a grip
once held over one’s life.
The magnitude of timing.
A season
finally trusted.

A couple of weeks ago, I shared this theme in the opening of the 3rd movement of Schumann’s Piano Quartet.
The first time we hear it, the cello begins and the violin takes it over — like the beginning of life.
Innocence held by warmth, like a mother’s embrace.
When it returns in the middle, the voice changes.
A new key. A new scene.
Like adulthood — that overwhelming surge of emotion of falling in love amidst all its weight, soaring for freedom.
Today I’m sharing the final return.
It feels like looking back — fragile, vulnerable, but steady in a way that only time can teach you.
As if decades pass all at once, like flipping through a picture book that never really ends.
When I was younger, I heard this as nostalgia — lost hopes, unfulfilled dreams.
Today, I hear something else.
Wisdom, gratitude, peace.
A life fully lived.
