April showers, Austin Powers, teaming up to beat up Bowser. A lot happened in April. Went to DC and Florida to visit family, slayed so many spires, went to a lot of events and shows, and spent time with friends. And finally cut my hair. Grandma turned 91, and I got to see her for a bit and give her a gift, so that was nice. Getting into yoga. More dance classes, and trying to kick this back pain out the window (although let's be honest it'll always be with me, like a handprint on my heart). Hellos and goodbyes. (I don't know why you say goodbye, I say hello).
Time Marches on ever forward. Some birthdays, some Broadways, some baiting, some switching, some bitching, some biting. Fewer dance classes than I would like to be taking, but still sporadically making it to the gym. A baby shower for Isaac. Way too many pastries and desserts. Finally saw Wicked: For Good! Saw a sick-ass haunted house dance show experience. And already 40+ hours of slay the spire 2. Some lows, but certainly many highs. Already a quarter through the year.
February has come and passed. The innocence can never last. Two blizzards, a bathroom makeover, the best Valentine I could ask for, continuing to build my community, whimsy in the little things, and being grateful for what I have. And of course, karaoke. I'm learning about myself. I've also been working on myself in different aspects. Like taking dance classes more regularly. And cutting cravings. And working on discipline. And realizing that I really miss performing. And continuing to be unapologetically me (and what being me even means). 2 done, 10 to go
January 2026
What a month it's been! Birthdays, Broadways, new shows, old shows (X-files, baby!!), escape rooms, karaoke in a safe space, lunch dates at new places, playing so much Zombicide, actually spending time with friends and making plans, finally getting a gym membership, finally getting a job, finally feeling like a person again after a year+ of rotting and recovering. I feel like I have life in me again. New Year's resolutions have always been so prickly for me, but I can really feel the changes I'm making to my life and my choices and new year new me is right. I'm determined again. I'm determined to get back to dancing again. There is hope yet in these old eyes after all.

Deep Cuts is happening and it's NEXT WEEK!!

If you don't know, Deep Cuts is the annual Halloween dance theater show presented by Nikki and the Noise. It is an absurd, modern dance, pop punk jukebox musical in which the host of a Halloween party provokes two of his guests. Drama and horror ensue!!
I will also be showing a NEW WORK as a sort of amuse-bouche for the main course that is Deep Cuts. The work is in celebration of the 70th year anniversary of Creature From the Black Lagoon. Here's a picture of possible costumes?!
Destiny and Amanda Stambrosky will be presenting works too! We're like an entire 5 course meal of campy, queer art with heart

ChoreoTech Lab: Dancemaking with AI and AR last week was certainly a lot of things. And out of that experience I found joy, friendship, community, and a lot of ice cream!!
I got to see different ways that technologies can impact/interact with dance and the human body.
I got to reaffirm my artistic voice/vision and think about how technologies can play a part in the ✨theater✨
I got to meet amazing new people, and reconnect with some amazing familiar people!
I even low-key made a karaoke dance party happen?!
