Geen beweging, geen rumoer: alleen spanning, licht en stilte die tussen de vormen blijven hangen.
De geometrische vlakken lijken op fragmenten van een stad.
De gouden lijnen brengen warmte in het donkere oppervlak, bijna als laatste sporen van leven tussen staal en stilte.
Dit werk gaat niet over een plek.
Het gaat over het moment waarop een stad eindelijk alleen is met zichzelf.

Twee werken die elkaar niet spiegelen, maar aanvullen.
De donkere volumes dragen het gewicht van beton, schaduw en tijd.
De witte ruimtes ademen rust, leegte en licht.
En daartussen verschijnen gouden vlakken: kleine tekens van warmte in een architectuur die bijna onmenselijk streng lijkt.

“De buik van de stad”
Onder het ritme van de gevels en het beton leeft iets stillers.
De buik van de stad gaat niet over de skyline, maar over wat eronder schuilt: spanning, herinneringen, slijtage en stilte.
De lagen in het werk voelen als muren die jarenlang verhalen hebben opgeslagen. Alsof de stad zichzelf langzaam heeft ingekerfd in het oppervlak. Ruw, zwaar en tegelijk kwetsbaar.
Dit schilderij zoekt niet naar perfectie.
Het toont de schoonheid van wat blijft bestaan nadat de drukte verdwenen is.
