Rong Yuan Can Guan, Chengdu
荣园餐馆
Local Sichuan spot.
Tasty hand-torn cabbage, wok-fried with dried chillies. Spicy beef with fresh chilli and ginger (note to future self, you’re not meant to eat all the chillies), and cold liangfen noodles covered in chilli oil, sesame and garlic.
Everything had that deep savoury heat Chengdu does so well. The cabbage and the beef had that on point 'wok hei' flavour I was after from here. Spicy, fragrant and ridiculously addictive without trying too hard.

Chungyang Guan, Chengdu.
纯阳馆
Amazing little spot famous for dandan noodles and Hong You Chaoshou — Sichuan wontons in chilli oil.
Bouncy noodles with a deep umami flavour once everything’s mixed through, alongside silky wontons coated in that addictive mala heat.
Could happily eat 10 bowls of this stuff. Absolute gem.

Ma’s Kitchen / Ma Wang Zi Chuan, Chengdu
An unreal lunch in Chengdu showcasing refined Sichuan flavours and a meal I won’t forget anytime soon.
The ‘saliva chicken’ packed a serious punch but was incredibly well balanced.
The Leshan sweet crispy duck had a much sweeter glaze than the Cantonese versions I’m used to.
The chilli oil dumplings had a thicker skin than expected with a properly balanced chilli-vinegar dressing.

There is a quiet luxury in knowing exactly where your food begins.
Vegetables grown slowly, in harmony with the soil, moments before they are cooked.
As evening falls, fire transforms them. Flames blister skins, embers coax sweetness, smoke carries the story forward.
Forest to plate is not a trend. It is a philosophy of respect — for land, for season, for provenance.
An experience rooted in place.

Some delayed snaps from mine and the sisters' trip to Hong Kong. One of the best places in the world, hands down. Could happily eat myself into a coma and get lost wandering around HK right now 🤤🥲 Take me back. 🇭🇰🇭🇰🇭🇰

Sampan Boat Tour in Hong Kong!
I was lucky enough to go on a sampan boat tour with @ilikefishballs 🛶🦀 starting with an ancient Chinese Folk Ritual known as “Villain Hitting”, before heading to the only sampan floating restaurant in Hong Kong! It was an incredible evening full of tradition and seafood!
Such a great way to spend an evening in Hong Kong!

This trip was only short, but I tried to visit as many restaurants as my stomach could handle! Here are a few of my favourites I dined at this time on HK island!
📍Sing Heung Yuen 勝香園
- This is my sister’s favourite breakfast spot! 🍅🍜 🍋
📍Maxim's Palace (Central)美心皇宮 中環店
- A traditional HK spot. Legendary dim sum, popular with locals. 🥢
📍Hong Kong Cuisine 壹玖捌叁
- Somewhere I visit everytime I’m in HK. A modern take on traditional Chinese dishes. 🦐🦪
📍Kam's Roast Goose 甘牌燒鵝
- Famous for their incredible goose! This place has held a Michelin star for 11 years straight! 🌟
📍Wah Lok Cafe 華樂冰室
- Amazing cha chaan teng! For your pineapple bun, french toast and milk tea fix!☕️
📍Snack Baby Gelato & Drinks (Hollywood Road)
- Walked past this Gelateria and couldn’t say no to a scoop of Szechuan chilli mango 🌶️🥭
Hong Kong is a food lovers dream! I can’t wait to be back again soon! What should I add to the list for next time?

Incredible options for cocktails and delicious food too! The Anchovy Whipped Ricotta Crostino was my favourite. The mortadella focaccia was huge, and great to line our stomachs before the night out 🥪
COA - No 38 in 🌎
-Mole Negroni 🥃
-Smacked Cucumber 🥒
COA is a really cool spot that focuses on Agave spirits. The flavour combinations were really interesting and well executed. It’s a great place to grab some cocktails with friends, enjoy the music and some shots! I couldn’t stop eating the guac and chips! 🥑
I couldn’t end the night without a quick egg puff and winter melon tea before heading to bed! 😴🌃
You cannot miss these spots on your next night out in HK. From incredible drinks to outstanding service, it’s obvious why these bars are some of the best that Hong Kong, and the world has to offer! 🇭🇰
