I went to the "Posing Party Workshop" hosted by
@arievogues &
@catpackworld and learned a lot!
I'm a photographer, but I don't have many pictures of me, mostly because I felt awkward in front of the camera, and I never liked any of them. That night I realized it was all the fear, the nerves, the uncertainty and anticipation that was all getting captured into awkward photos.
There's was a lot of people who helped me feel comfortable, suggested posses, and created that safe space for me to really let go of all the tension I usually carry around and fully try stuff while standing under the lights and looking directly into the lens
@hazenhousestudios was filled with the nicest most supportive people that night and I could begin to understand how it was possible to take "not so terrible" photos of myself... I still have a lot to learn but I feel like I understand how to start now
As a photographer who usually does street, concert and event photography, I'm used to capturing candid moments, but I always wanted learn what it's like to do posed portraits. Now that I learned the basics, I need a lot more practice so if you want portraits... better call ๐๐
