The proof is in the pudding that soft direction, followed by space, lets real magic breathe. When I stepped back, I could see the quiet and beautiful trust between a boy and his mom, the way he dived into her, drawn to the place that was his first home. These echos of motherhood are so special to see while I’m photographing.
One perk of photographing a punk rock legend is getting to hear him jam between frames. Photographing @mikeness of @socialdistortion meant spending time around someone who helped shape an entire music scene. And their new music album absolutely does not disappoint.

Portraits are such a special exchange between two people coming together to try to make something that feels true to who someone is. I had the opportunity to photograph Leigh McDaniel, an intuitive, trauma-aware healer of the body and feminine experience. She was so generous with her time and open to me tinkering with small variations that might speak more deeply to her essence. This was photographed for a story with the @latimes . Thank you to @kelvinkuo for the assignment 💫
GRATITUDE POST (iykyk) In my L.A. Buy Nothing group, I noticed that freely shared objects often carry emotional weight, more than they appear, sometimes holding personal or generational history. I began documenting these quiet exchanges, drawn to why people choose to pass their belongings to neighbors. My words and pictures were published today in the @latimes
Mike Tagg returns to climbing in full force after an injury where doctors told him to stay off his foot. I wholeheartedly feel that our own free will in things we do, make us feel alive. For the @sfchronicle
