Bit of being a tourist at home this week. Highly highly recommend Jackie’s @streatsofphillyfoodtours which we thoroughly enjoyed today. We ate our way through south philly including my fav @biedermansphilly plus isgros, dibrunos, Angelo’s and a cool new cookbook shop called @bindingagents We’ve done food tours all over in our travels but never right here at home! Also visited the @constitutionctr including their new exhibit, for an author event with @sarahmisgur discussing her excellent new book “Last branch standing”. You can hear her with David French on their biweekly podcast advisory Opinions. This PSA brought to you by the city of brotherly love!
Today was my graduation! I am very excited to now be a volunteer Wissahickon Valley Park Trail Ambassador and look forward to guiding hikes and spewing all sorts of information, both factual and questionable to visitors in our beautiful park. Friends of the Wissahickon is a wonderful organization that has been preserving and improving the park for over a hundred years. And, I finally made it to historic Rittenhouse town for our Lincoln drive clean up service day. Beautiful here! @fowissahickon
Unexpected days in Dallas. It’s remarkable to find oneself pining for the days of the Bush presidency. A visit to the Bush library is well worth it if in Dallas.. ..
We have seen this before and it’s no less horrifying. “This (winter)I hear the drumming (two) dead in Minneso(ta)….Gotta get down to it, soldiers are cutting us down…..how can you run when you know?” Rise up.
Among the things to be thankful for in Philadelphia is @biedermansphilly and “the loxsmith” Gene Mopsik. It’s well worth the drive to south Philly for the best lox, whitefish, and many other delicacies. Gene was one of the cooks at the summer camp Laura and I went to in the early 70s. Great to have him feeding me again! 123-456 we want Dotzy’s Danish! (IYKYK)
It was a special treat to all be together at longwood gardens again. So many laughs recreating an iconic image from ~1994. We are very lucky parents. ❤️
No one was sitting at the conclusion of last night’s Philadelphia orchestra and choir’s thrilling performance of Beethoven’s 9th symphony. Philly friends- one more chance to see this on Thursday if you can. Music has the power to lift us up especially when it’s this inspiring and performed so majestically. Epic. #philadelphiaorchestra
Which was today and which January 2020? (Those guys had no idea what was about to go down…..) always great to be with @howardung at deer valley (and @carynpsfm of course too!)
