Bruno and Steve were saddened to hear that their friend and producer, Lance Quinn, has passed away. Lance produced the first Danger Danger album. He also produced the first two Bon Jovi records, among many others. Lance was not just a great producer, but a great guy. He was also a gifted musician, who before he started producing was an in-demand session guitarist. While working on Danger Dangerâs debut record, Bruno and Steve bumped heads with him plenty, thinking they knew better. They didnât. They learned a lot from Lance that they truly didnât appreciate until years later when they started producing their own records.
Lance was also a world-class prankster. He once brought a box of Boston cream donuts to the studio and replaced the cream filling with Vaseline. (He sucked the cream out with a straw!). While Bruno and Steve were in L.A. mixing the record, Lance broke into their hotel room and released a bunch of live pigeons. When they got back to their room, the place was covered in pigeon shit and feathers. They repaid the favor by dumping a garbage bag of fish heads & fish guts under the covers of his hotel bed. It was awful. And hilarious! Needless to say, that was the end of our pranking each other.
He loved the BBQ ribs from the âRib Ranchâ in Philly. We can still picture him saying âletâs order, manâ in that quirky voice of his. Or âhumor me, manâ when he wanted us to play something different or change a part in a song.
Lance like to add the word âboâ onto the end of everyoneâs name. Steve-bo. Bruno-bo. It was endearing. We fondly called him Lance-bo. We also lovingly dubbed him âThe Man Who Walked The Earthâ as he had the largest calves we had ever seen!
We kept in touch through the years. Lance was kind enough to contribute some brilliant keyboards and sound effects on our âThe Return of the Great Gildersleevesâ album.
Bruno spoke with him often. He wasnât doing well health-wise, but we really didnât know how ill he was. Steve had been meaning to give him a call as he really wanted to catch up with him and see how he was doing. He regrets that he never did. I guess heâll have to catch up on the other side.
Rest in Peace, Lance-bo
Saddened to hear about the sudden passing of Buddy Blaze. Buddy was a great dude, and instrumental in getting @andytimmonsofficial on D2âs radar, which eventually led to him joining the band. Needless to say that if it werenât for him, things might have been much different for all of us. Sending our deepest condolences to his friends, and family..
R.I.P. Buddy
We were saddened to hear that our friend and Danger Danger cheerleader, Gerri Miller, passed away. Gerri was the editor of Metal Edge Magazine back in the â80s & â90s. She, and Metal Edge put Danger Danger on the map and lovingly kept us there when no one else cared to. She was one of our earliest supporters and arguably our greatest. She believed in us as she did in so many other bands of our era. She loved the bands, she loved the music and she loved the fans. It warms our hearts to see so many of our pictures and posters from Metal Edge still popping up daily on peopleâs Instagram feeds and Facebook pages. Her impact has been generational. Her work and passion is still evident and relevant today. Itâs everywhere. She is everywhere. Gerri will always be an important and beloved part of the Danger Danger story. She was more than just the editor of Metal Edge magazine, she was our friend. Thank you for your friendship and everything you did for us. Youâll never know how much it meant to us. We love you and we will miss you. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to her family and friends. You will forever be in our hearts,â¤ď¸ Gerri. Steve, Bruno, Ted, Andy & Kasey
