Dear Valerie
You are never alone Valerie, Just as the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds you, both now and forever. He has written your name boldly on the palm of his hands and your walls are continually before HIM
I charge you Urom to move in the volume of the books that have been written about you, that Gods will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Happy birthday Ada Eji Eje MBA✨
Thinking to Plan
Planning to Execute
Not every project gets to the execution stage, and a certain percentage that do don’t meet the quota of excellence.
How do you balance “how far” and “how well”? How do you foster team collaboration in this delicate stage of the project?

As an artist, her practice is simple and focused on adding to the definition of Drawing as more than just a visual representation of two-dimensional renditions on cardboard, paper, and other prepared grounds.Valerie proposes that Drawing is boundless in its visual execution and could take the form of Performance art. sculptures. or installations. And even photography.
Valerie is a fellow of the Art in Medicine fellowship and Bakanal de Afrique fellowship, she participated in the inaugural Stellenbosch Triennale (on the cusp) StellenboschWestern Cape. South Africa, ARX art exhibition, Kunstmuseum Bonn Germany, and KNUST Museum Kumasi Ghana simultaneously. A finalist for the maiden ArtX Artist Portfolio Review in 2020, Valerie has sat on multiple panel discussions making contributions to the Artefact Biography workshop and webinar “Unveiling the stories of Nigerian Artifacts”—organized by the Connecting the Dots fellowship, supported by Goethe Institute. And in April 2024, curated the maiden edition of Emerging Expressions, a Nationwide undergraduate art fair identifying and promoting young talents. She is also the founder of The Garage Collective an innovative art initiative dedicated to promoting visual arts as a viable and rewarding career path for secondary school students. Our mission is to provide comprehensive art education programs, thought-provoking discussions, and engaging workshops that foster critical thinking, creativity, and youth involvement.

In the month of March, between love and heartbreak, loss and redemption, I had the opportunity to sit down with the good people of Afimaxx (DW).
Over the backdrop of a sore throat—runny nose and NEPA being good’ol NEPA we talked about how drawing manifests itself in diverse materials.
We talked about ephemerality and how that itself can be the most tangible manifestation of a thought.
We talked about the thin line between drawing and sculpting.
We talked about wax and its incredible importance in archaic civilization as well as its continued relevance.
We talked about history. We talked about the present. We talked about prospects for the future.
We spoke until my larynx could no longer produce sound—literally :)

YLAH GLOBAL LAUNCH
We are excited about the Young Leaders for Arts and Health global launch, which will include international and cross-city summits, wellbeing socials, workshops, performances, research presentations, arts and health project presentations, policy engagement, and fireside chats, among other events.
The Young Leaders for Arts and Health initiative empowers youth to drive arts-based health innovation, harnessing their unique perspectives to address global health challenges. Through collaboration, mentorship, and cultural exchange, we inspire young leaders to develop creative solutions that promote community health and wellbeing. We envision a world where every young person has access to the arts as a tool for healing and advocacy. Youth bring fresh, innovative ideas that redefine health, influence policy, and advance research to establish the arts as a cornerstone of public health. Together, we create a lasting impact through youth-led initiatives and global partnerships.
The Young Leaders for Arts and Health was established by the Global Arts in Medicine Fellowship in collaboration with the Commonwealth Leadership Institute.

Quick Takes With @danfo_ at @artistsconnectafrica
Artists Connect Africa, which held on March 15, 2025, at Nordic Hotel, gathered some of the most influential voices shaping African creativity today.
In this exclusive conversation, we spoke with Valerie Fab-Uche—artist, art educator, and curator—about the common mistake a lot of emerging artists are making and how they can correct early.
The event fostered meaningful connections between emerging and established artists, curators, gallerist and innovators, driving discussions on artistic innovation, access, and the limitless possibilities of artistic medium and media.
Stay tuned for more highlights from this inspiring gathering!
