Itās been almost 12 weeks since my last race. What a lot of people donāt know is the day before Iris came into the world I paced the 3hr group at the @austinmarathon . Since then running has been an afterthought and not consistent and thatās ok. Iāve been having some of the best weeks watching my son grow and watching @bishwithbangs be an amazing mother. Running will always be there but these first weeks with iris have flown by and Iām already missing those first moment feels. With all that said Iāve been loving family time and will be back to racing later this year.

We took a disposable camera to the hospital for the birth of Iris and I couldnāt recommend it more. We got the photos back yesterday and teared up, feeling all the memories. These photos really transported us back. How has it already been 8 weeks?
Having Iris has been the most incredible and the most challenging chapter of our lives. Not only are Dane and I learning how to be parents while actively being parents but Iris is learning how to be a little person. Thereās a lot of love thatās happening and a lot of miscommunication haha. A feeling Iām sure a lot of parents can relate to ā„ļø
I canāt imagine being in this part of life with anyone else. I have even more love for @danemshaw when I see him with our son, when we talk about his future and ours, and seeing Dane go out of his way to learn things about our little guy to be a better parent.
