This is a long post. Read at your discretion. .
Last month (legit one month back from today) I was able to get on set and take some BTS photography for a short film. I want to use this post to talk about something that gets talked about a lot, but regardless I want to throw my 2 cents in; the crew. Unsung heroes outside of groups and forums that consist of themselves. I was surrounded by a hardworking crew that worked 2 full days including an overnight from 7pm to 7am (I went to my office job at 9am that morning lol). I was honored to be with these people on set and I wish them all well. As someone who produces and ADs, I’ve seen crews get overlooked and I’ve seen how their expertise can be shuffled to the wayside. Filmmaking is work, it is a career, and it is laborious. It will always be important to highlight this, and to pay homage outside of credits at the back end of a movie. From the PAs, to the on set painter, to the makeup extraordinaire, to the camera and sound crew, You guys fuckin rocked.
Waiting for the ferry from jersey city while trying to avoid the blackout in Manhattan has its perks... I guess .
