Last year, I said I wasn't much of a day count girl. It can still feel kind of weird having to explain to people that this has nothing to do with alcohol or substances (please stop asking if I'm "drinking again" when you see me with a Bud Heavy!), but rather the addictive behaviors that kept me from connecting with my own sexuality and others in a healthy and sober way.
Now reaching 2 years, what I've come to understand is that the first step was never admitting you have a problem. It was admitting that we can't do this alone. That's why we go to therapy, surround ourselves with friends who care to listen to us tell the truth, and sit in the rooms where everyone has the same goal of healing old wounds. On my sober birthday, I'm not just celebrating how I'm in a better place, but also the many people I have chosen to be in my life, who I have had the joy of seeing in a better place. My 2 years is just one small piece of our shared journey, and I couldn't be happier continuing to count the additional days to come.
Recorded a new song, realized it has the same strumming pattern as a Florence + the Machine song.
Re: Cancer is about being at a party wondering whether the end of the world or our own personal shortcomings will take us out first. Buckle is about being way too old to be stuck in a situationship. Both are about profound disappointment.

Thank you Florence Welch for dropping a kickass album for my second anniversary of drag monarchy. And as tough as the world gets, I am reminded that being able to do this with friends and community is the whole damn point of this all.
For the first time in game night history, the Village teamed up with the Werewolves to take out a dangerous, xenomorph-worshipping cult! And with new friends aboard, this D&D campaign is only going to get more chaotic! Until the next Dungeons and Drag Things!
I have not seen many people talking about this but this is an extremely significant ballot proposal that needs to be shot down! Making City elections the same year as the Presidential election may superficially increase voter turnout but will not lead to a better informed electorate. Just Imagine @zohrankmamdani running in 2024. How would people have had the bandwidth and energy to mobilize the way we have all year? If you want people to vote for change, you do so by volunteering and outreach, and encourage others to do the same!
Nestled within the remains of a dead god floating through the astral sea, a sleepy village is about to know true terror in the form of... Werewolf?
Trust no one and choose your allies carefully as Avant Garbage, Gaymeboy Pocket, Pussy Willow, and Dungeon Master Dandy Lam take you through a D&D twist on a game night classic! Check the recap if you missed our last session!
Doors open at 5, show at 5:30!
Get ready for election season! Come to Albatross this Sunday and show proof of voter registration to get a free shot! Show us that you've signed up to canvass or present a stamped ZetroCard to get a free shot and board for Bingo She Wrote with Angela Mansberry at 5 PM!
Election Day is November 4, early voting starts October 25
Thank you @astoriaskingdom for supporting queer and trans artists and musicians and letting us tell the stories of queer and trans artists and musicians.
This song took two years for me to write and went through countless iterations. I had some vision of a folk tale about the Nemean Lion from Greek myth going on a journey in search of a place to belong, but nothing sounded right until I finally decided to talk about my own summer bike rides to Fort Totten, where I often go to get away from the sounds of the city and watch the water and the sky.
Leo's Homecoming
I left my notebook by the bed
Where I wrote about the time I almost broke my legs
On the rocks at Fort Totten
And I'm standing on the hill here now
The same place where a few paramedics watched the sun go down
They sat together on the fence
And I wondered if they'd ever seen the light leave someone's eyes
The kind of nightmare I still have sometimes
A flash of where I've been
But I've been told that I talk too much about other people's lives
And not enough about my own life
It's my one and only sin
I come here alone and wait til after dark
Amid the lightning bugs and empty yards
The summer breeze against my skin
Maybe I could sleep here for a bit
I'm sure the firemen won't even notice
When there are burning homes to mend
Long ago I laid the loam of a shelter
And found the rising score inside
The shapes between my lungs
I put on a show
Where I can play hero
So I could steal away a world that's good for me
Through heat and rain
The running of my veins
Is the human I was always meant to be
On ceruelean screens
My home in Queens
Long ago we laid the loam of a shelter
For we shall be in capable hands
So we've learned the love in letting go
And peace in the joy that it brings
Now carry on to where the road meets dawn
All of this anger won't last forever
Our words will echo beyond the curtain call
Apart we are still together
(Long ago)
I crawled my way out from the deep dark hole again
(So we've learned)
I was never a hero, but I'm still here tonight
(Now carry on)
To watch the sun go down at the top of the hill at Fort Totten
(Our words will echo)
In my chest I feel the gathering symphony in pomp and symmetry
For we shall be in capable hands
There is peace in the joy that it brings
All of this anger won’t last forever
Apart we are still together
After braving Hell's Kitchen raiders, space clowns, competitive sports, and sexy reverse centaurs, our heroes unfortunately failed to put a stop to RuPaul Mars's death games. But the journey is far from over...
Thanks to everyone who made the second Dungeons and Drag Things a grand slam!
