Happy Gotcha Day to Sam, aka Super Sam, Sammy Hammy, Bubs. Sam has been with us for 3 years today, and I hope we have brought him just as much joy and love as he has brought us. His favorite things are helping me work, cuddling any blanket, loving on tiny humans, scent work class and chewy stick time. Life has been so much fuller with him as my dog ππΎ
When I hop in the car to run errands on lunch and the maps app suggests where I should go... To home or to Sunny Camp Gorton. It obviously knows what time of year it is and where I'd like to be. Lol
Felt right at home at camp today. Also found the irony in this sign that I was asked to paint 20+ years ago for the range as a new handicraft staff member... I didn't understand it all then, but things have certainly come full circle now.

Pictures tell a story...Sad/happy post ahead:
Today would have been my dad's 76th birthday. I had a zoom call with my mom and sister where we toasted my dad and told some favorite stories about him. I also talked about how since he's been gone I try to do "dad things" on his birthday. Today I listened to his playlist and this song made me smile and cry, I went bargain hunting on my lunch break like him and came home with seeds (daughter of a produce farmer), and I had a bourbon drink with people I love. But to be perfectly honest, I don't try to do "dad things", I already do them and it's fun to identify habits I have that are thanks to him.
It's the perfect post for today's #fiberuarychallenge prompt of New Beginnings because I think this is the beginning of a new tradition where us ladies get together no matter where we are and toast the big guy we loved so much, tell good stories, and be a little less sad together.
Also, I had my current WIP and didn't touch it because we had such a nice time.
Someone brought King cake to work today and when I cut my slice guess what I found? I guess I have some good luck coming and I better bring in the next cake! πππ
Happy gotcha day to our Sweet Sadie! I'm a couple days late because November got away from me, but these show a little glimpse of her first November with us 5 years ago! She's still spunky, playful and judgemental with her side eye glances, but has turned into a great cuddle bug and companion. We love you, Sweets. β₯οΈπΎ
When your significant other has brought home the plague and you wake up feeling like he shared it, you should check your @bespoke_apothecary stash to see what would be helpful. In this case I found that I had not one, not two, but FOUR of their amazing mushroom tinctures that would be perfect for how I'm feeling in addition to all the other tinctures I just selected. Then it only made sense to use my mushroom mug for fire cider and honey. I'm so thankful I have built up my collection of plant magic from them and that they do what they do. β€οΈπΏ
