This time last year, I was working on bringing Sharira by
@vaibhavdance to Berlin in June, something I stepped into quite independently, with a lot of heart and a firm push from dear
@deepikapotdar to just take that leap and make it happen.
What has stayed with me most since then is the journey of it all ,the process, the learning, the small leaps of faith, and everything it took to hold something like that together.
That experience quietly became a stepping stone.
In my own small way, I’m just trying to do what I can , to create a space for this art form here, away from home, and to keep it open, shared, and accessible to those who want to experience it.
This June, I’m continuing that journey with Thaaratu by
@shru_gpl now as part of my larger project Classical Moves, Contemporary Voice, which has received funding through Durchstarten and the Berlin Senate. It feels very special and much needed to be one of the 18 projects of thousands.
A lot of this journey is still very personal and hands-on building things from the ground up, learning as I go but it comes from a place of deep love and belief.
It would mean so much to have you there for Thaaratu.
To witness, to support, and to help this grow into something that can hold many more such moments in Berlin.
And also… come watch Shruti in her element
