Been here for a minute! At parties, in warehouses, and on festival grounds, we’ve been checking substances, handing out safety supplies, and having honest conversations since 1998. Today, 1700+ trained volunteers across 12 chapters show up across the country to provide on-site harm reduction services. If you’ve ever visited a DanceSafe booth, you’ve seen this work in action. If you haven’t, what are you waiting for?! Behind the scenes, we distribute millions of harm reduction tools each year to individuals and public health programs who rely on them. If this work matters to you, please considering donating. Help us keep the tables staffed, the supplies stocked, and the education flowing. Make a tax deductible donation at our link in bio 💛

Psychedelics and music festivals have a long shared history. For many people, that combination can be meaningful and expansive. It can also be unpredictable. But a little preparation goes a long way! 📲 Download the Fireside Project app before your next fest. 📩 Send this to the friends you’re camping, carpooling, or grooving with this summer!

Hi 👋 We may look a little different, but we’re still here. Last month, after a growing financial crisis, DanceSafe had to make the painful decision to lay off paid staff. They kept the work going through impossible and unpredictable circumstances, and their dedication to this organization and the mission will not be forgotten. We are eternally grateful for them. So what does this mean? DanceSafe is not going anywhere. Moving forward, we will be empowering chapters to operate independently with tools for community-driven harm reduction. We hope this will offer more stability and sustainability over the long-term. You will still be able to access our educational materials and harm reduction tools on our website and any time you see our chapters’ yellow booths at events. We also have several ongoing projects, including an art fundraiser with the Shulgin Foundation. Keep your eyes on this channel for your opportunity to purchase glasswork made Sasha Shulgin’s own lab glass. Transitions are hard, but the work is as crucial as ever. Check our link in bio for ways you can support.

Albert Hofmann thought he was dying after consuming an unfamiliar substance - sound familiar? If you’ve ever gotten stuff from the illicit market, you may have experienced something similar. But you don’t have to guess, you can test! Drug checking helps you make safer and more informed choices about what you’re putting in your body. 🧪 Grab your test kit at our Iink in bio! HAPPY BICYCLE DAY! 🚲 If you’re celebrating, take care and be safe! #bicycleday #harmreduction #overdoseprevention

There are few people who have been with DanceSafe as long as Rae! Volunteer ➡️ DC Chapter Lead ➡️ FTIR Program Coordinator ➡️ Education Director ➡️ Interim COO She’s basically watched us grow up 🥹 As our resident drug nerd, Rae is usually the one answering your drug questions (there are certainly some interesting ones!), creating educational content, and staying on top of current research, novel technology, and changing supply trends. One 💜 = one THANK YOU RAE!!! Videography: @lizzayadventures #harmreduction #dancesafe #publichealth

The crack epidemic exposed a painful truth: drug policies are often designed to target specific communities rather than protect public safety and health. That racial injustice continues today, causing lasting harm in Black communities. We honor the Black harm reductionists who, in the face of that harm, lead with compassion and courage. Your leadership continues to shape a future where drug policy centers health, dignity, and justice for all. This collage represents just a small fraction of the Black harm reductionists who have shaped and strengthened this movement. We wish we could include everyone who has led, organized, and pushed harm reduction forward. If someone we should honor isn’t pictured here, please know their impact is seen and deeply appreciated. #blackhistorymonth #harmreduction #blackhistory
