There are some people who quietly change the course of your journey without ever asking for recognition. This Guru Poornima, I want to thank two such women who have shaped the way I dance, the way I think, and the way I carry myself—with more purpose, clarity, and heart.
@dancepreya , thank you for being the reason I found my way back to Bhartanatyam. What you’ve built at Devi School of Dance is so much more than just a classroom, it’s a community, a space where we’re all allowed to grow, fall, try again, and keep discovering who we are. You’ve pushed me, believed in me, and given me the kind of trust and creative freedom that not everyone gets to experience. I’ve learned so much from watching how you lead with passion, with clarity, and with so much heart.
@vinithasubramanian , I’ve learned so much from your quiet strength and grace. You have a way of making the smallest details feel important and the hardest parts feel possible. Your guidance has brought a different kind of depth to my dancing. It’s not just what you teach, it’s how you make space for growth, for mistakes, for questions. And that’s such a rare gift.
Learning from both of you has shaped me in ways I’m still realizing. I’m so lucky to have had your guidance, and I’ll carry everything you’ve taught me with so much respect and love.hopefully one day be a performer and teacher like y’all taking this form forward.
