Stepping into Krishna in Nauka Charitra felt like stepping into a world where teasing becomes devotion, and every glance holds a story. Surrounded by these radiant Gopis, each moment on stage turned into a living painting… playful, intimate, and timeless. There’s something magical about sharing space with dancers who don’t just perform, but become. The laughter, the chemistry, the stillness between movements… all of it felt like it belonged to something much older than us, yet so alive in that moment. Deep gratitude to @ppadmini.rravi Ma’am for this exquisite choreography, and to our Guru @dancepreya for shaping it with such love and clarity. Honored to present this with the incredible Devi School of Dance team… and to lose myself, even if just for a while, in Krishna’s world. There are some people who quietly change the course of your journey without ever asking for recognition. This Guru Poornima, I want to thank two such women who have shaped the way I dance, the way I think, and the way I carry myself—with more purpose, clarity, and heart. @dancepreya , thank you for being the reason I found my way back to Bhartanatyam. What you’ve built at Devi School of Dance is so much more than just a classroom, it’s a community, a space where we’re all allowed to grow, fall, try again, and keep discovering who we are. You’ve pushed me, believed in me, and given me the kind of trust and creative freedom that not everyone gets to experience. I’ve learned so much from watching how you lead with passion, with clarity, and with so much heart. @vinithasubramanian , I’ve learned so much from your quiet strength and grace. You have a way of making the smallest details feel important and the hardest parts feel possible. Your guidance has brought a different kind of depth to my dancing. It’s not just what you teach, it’s how you make space for growth, for mistakes, for questions. And that’s such a rare gift. Learning from both of you has shaped me in ways I’m still realizing. I’m so lucky to have had your guidance, and I’ll carry everything you’ve taught me with so much respect and love.hopefully one day be a performer and teacher like y’all taking this form forward.

These women have influenced my life in the best of ways. Asha Aunty came into my life 45 years ago and shared the gift of Bharatanatyam. She introduced me to Padmini Aunty through summer workshops over 30 years ago and I am ever grateful. To this day, both of these amazing women guide and inspire me through their passion and knowledge of dance and life itself. I love and revere these women immensely 🩷🙏🏽. This rare photo was taken at my students Arangetram earlier this year in Bangalore, where both of them were honored 🪷

There’s something rare about a person who doesn’t just teach you what to do, but shows you how to be. That’s what @dancepreya is for all of us at Devi School of Dance. She’s not just the reason Devi School of Dance exists. She’s the reason it feels the way it does like home, like family, like something bigger than all of us. Preya gives her everything to this art form and to every single dancer who walks through the door. She teaches us with so much care and honesty, not just how to move, but how to grow, how to stay grounded, and how to dance with our full hearts. We’re so lucky to have her as our guru. And even luckier to walk this journey with her. Happy Guru Poornima, Preya. We’re endlessly grateful for you. #gurupoornima #devischoolofdance #gratitudetoourguru #bharatanatyam #dancefamily

I keep pinching myself, just a proud parent over here! In the span of just weeks, Laika has achieved so much. From becoming Texas DECA president to being crowned Miss Texas Teen USA 😧. I know her grandfather is keeping a watchful eye on her from above with a big smile, eyebrows raised high and fully taking all the credit ☺️!
