I’ve seen some posts recently about promoting events and what role those involved in events have (or don’t) when it comes to promoting. Some say ‘it’s not the DJs job to fill a room’. I’m diametrically opposed to that opinion. Here’s my take as someone who started in this business as an event promoter in 1995. Today, I continue to promote my own events, the music I make, events I’m booked at, Dance Klassique (one of the longest running ‘uninterrupted’ weekly events in the world at 27 years), my music label and also my peers events (that I’m not even booked at) from time to time.
