From Hollywood Summer Tour to touring with Jason Derulo. A decade ago, Jada attended Hollywood Summer Tour @dancehst with her mom. She came from a single parent household in a small town, and her mother had to fundraise to make that trip possible. That opportunity planted a seed. What people see now is the success. Living in LA. Touring with Jason Derulo. Appearing on shows like The X Factor. What they do not always see is that her journey was not easy. She quit a couple times along the way. Her path to LA was not smooth sailing. There were obstacles, setbacks, and moments that could have made her stop for good. But this is what perseverance looks like. This is what resilience looks like. This is what happens when talent meets the right opportunity and someone chooses not to give up. I knew Jada had star quality the day I met her. And over a decade later, having her as a guest on The Business of Dance podcast @thebizofdance and hearing her share her story was such a full circle moment. For 20 years, the Hollywood Summer Tour has been giving dancers more than just training. It is a full LA dance experience. From his first LA dance scholarship at @dancehst to @starsearchnetflix , @ladygaga , @jlo , and @worldofdance . Austin Lee @austinblaiselee came to @dancehst 10 years ago as a young dancer from Florida with his mom, Lisa. During the Hollywood Summer Tour, he performed in an agency showcase for @msaagency . Fast forward a decade later, he is now signed with @msaagency , living in LA, and working professionally as a dancer. His credits include @ladygaga , @jlo , @worldofdance , @danceonfox , and more. He recently won the dance category on @starsearchnetflix with @movement55_ , choreographed by @_sophialucia , and is currently performing in the LA residency show Teen Beat. Shout out to @elenapike_ from Goose Bay, Labrador, who just signed a contract with Disney Cruises ✨ I have known Elena since she was just 8 years old. From her early days as a competitive dancer, to Hollywood Summer Tour @dancehst , London Spring Tour @dancelst , and The Business of Dance @thebizofdance , @idanceconvention @5678_showtime @thedanceworldcup it has been so special to watch her growth over the years. I even choreographed one of her solos when she was a teen. Seeing her step into this next chapter makes me so incredibly proud. Watching dancers grow up, stay committed to their dreams, and book opportunities like this is exactly why I do what I do. Go Elena!!! We are so proud of you ❤️

Flashback Friday and we’re going all the way back to Hollywood Summer Tour 2018 🔥@dancehst Seeing Cardi B in concert tomorrow, so it felt right to revisit this combo. Fabian assisted this class and absolutely killed it. Eight years later and I’d still teach this today. Some songs and choreography are timeless

Today is a BIG day on Star Search 🤍@starsearchnetflix - WHO DO YOU THINK WILL WIN?
 2 of my former clients are competing on the same stage, and I could not be more proud of either of them.
 Austin Lee @austinblaiselee , alumni of @dancehst , is competing with his group Movement 55 @movement55_ , choreographed by @sophialucia .
 Sienna Morris @sisimorris , alumna of @thebizofdance mentorship, is performing with her duo partner under the direction of Josie Walsh from @ballet_red .
 And to make this moment even sweeter, the show is creatively produced by my longtime friend @tianatoday and cast by @tripletcasting , both of whom have been guests on my podcast.
 The irony of all of this… Star Search is the reason I started dancing in the late 80s. It was the show I studied, replayed, and mimicked in my living room as a kid.
 My childhood self would have dreamed of a moment like this.
 What are the odds that out of all the dancers in the US, two of my clients are competing against each other on the same iconic stage & episode?
 I wish they could both win. But the truth is, they already have.
 No matter the outcome, they are stars in their own right, and this is only the beginning of what is ahead for both of them ✨
 So proud. So grateful. So full circle. 💫
