Jumping back on to social media for a bit to share some work projects. (here if you're interested: ). While I am here though, thought I'd share a quick word about the passing of the legend that is Godfrey Evans who was put to rest last week in his beloved Port Talbot. Godfrey was the founder of the West Glamorgan Youth Theatre Company - many will know the big part this organisation played in my life. For those of you who don't know, I basically cannot imagine what my life would have been without this company. The dedicated artists that run it imparted deep knowledge and wisdom that I continue to use everyday. The fierce friendships I forged in Dan y Coed keep me strong, keep me laughing and keep me loved. It's been a tough time for a lot of us in the arts and creative industries recently. Certainly the most challenging few weeks of my career. But I'd like to think I approach my work with pride, integrity and tenacity. Qualities I owe to my family, friends and to the amazing people at the WGYTC. Without Godfrey, none of this happens. I owe Godfrey a great deal, and his legacy lives on in abundance at The Other Room. He is the giant whose shoulders generations stand on. Keep telling stories ❤

Been off the old social media for a while… in fact, this is my first post. But I just wanted to pop back on to spread the word on a project we’ve been working on. It’s a real special one. The last production in this version of The Other Room before we pack up and move to a new venue (more on that at a later date!). I have so much love and admiration for the cast, creatives and our team at The Other Room and Porter’s. Their dedication to this monster of a project has been immense. So wheather your a loyal audience member, our biggest critic, or someone completely new to The Other Room, there’s a bit of Welsh theatre history in this one, and I hope you’re able to catch it. Hopefully see you there. Be warned, it’s a conversation starter! And here are some cheeky reviewers to get you warmed up. Cariad enfawr ❤️ The Guardian ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "elegiac and affecting: a testament to the compulsion to keep building, even as the world falls apart, and to carving out spaces in the dark where stories continue to be told, and told again" /stage/2023/may/12/idle-they-yammer-review-other-room-cardiff The Stage ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "The actors bounce effortlessly off each other… a tribute to everything this venue set out to do, and everything it grew into" /reviews/idle-they-yammer-review-at-the-other-room-cardiff-matthew-trevannion
