I'm using a @winsorandnewton Series 995 1/2 inch flat wash brush and @goldenpaints High Flow acrylic to paint squares on stretched linen primed with clear gesso on @doubworks stretcher bars. Working outward from the center, I paint the squares in stacks that fit together in a spiral pattern. Gradients form as the squares gradually become less opaque as the brush runs low on paint.

@danapiazza creates meticulous abstract drawings on paper that build upon one initial mark. The line based shapes are largely monochromatic and minimal. He does not plan the final composition, instead opting to follow a set of self-imposed rules in which each line is influenced by the one before.
