Not sure if this page is about a Skyline build or a Honda build anymore.. But the DC2 is back on the road!
Unfortunately insurance couldn't fix it. It was too costly and hard to source parts. So I did the only logical thing and took it home to repair it by myself.
The JDM front was unintentional. Insurance was right. Parts were hard to come by. At the time of my search, the JDM pieces were the only ones available and so I just went along with it.
The front suspension and axle had also taken a beating. So I replaced them with Hardrace arms and EK9 5 stud hubs. This of course lead to using EK9 brakes with 16" TE37s to suit.
The final touch is the S2000 cluster which I correctly reprogrammed and wired up a harness for.
So happy with how it all turned out. Next for this car would probably be a new turbo setup and a retune.
Though I've still got that Skyline to finish off..

Roughly 12 months ago, she said yes to forever during our trip to Tokyo Disneyland. This came after spending the previous day at Omori Factory and Daikoku parking arena. Later that week, we rented an FL5 Type R to drive through the snowy mountains and up to Fuji Speedway.
What a trip to remember.
Since then, it's been back to reality.
With a new reason to finish the R34 that's been 7 years in the making.
Time to bring it back for 2025!
Last minute decision to shave the holes on radiator support, with spray day scheduled a few days away.
Nismo heritage front lip arrived just in time too!
Fitment is perfect with the Nismo front bumper.
Spent several hours sanding back the engine bay and bumper to get them nice and flat, ready for paint.

Prime time!
So satisfying to see this back in one uniform colour again.
This time using an epoxy primer to seal all bare metal surfaces.

I'll admit, I was never gonna get around to painting this thing on my own.
The primer had picked up a lot of contaminants from sitting around, and some areas of surface rust were starting to show through.
So on December 16th 2023 it was loaded up onto the @broken.silvia trailer for him to work his magic. Just 4 days later he already had it back to bare metal!
Let's go 2024!
