One of my favorites finished her long journey with cancer this last week.
Aunt Suzanne was encourager, supporter, cheerleader. She was the reason I moved to Baltimore a decade ago, and showed me so many reasons to love this quirky city.
She was a spacemaker. A curator of comfort and joy in her home. Whether it was Thanksgiving dinners together for the last 10 years (truly so much to be thankful for, through laughter or through tears), or Panini Sundays watching the Ravens games together, she always made sure anyone in her home felt comfortable, had all the food and drink they could imagine, and felt truly at home.
Thank you for all you've given me and taught me. Thank you for standing up for equality for all. For protesting for women's rights. For the kind gifts every christmas. For teaching me what hospitality looks like. For never judging. For expanding my tastes and view of the world. For celebrating me, and so many others, and making me feel known and valued. What a gift.

Kids in the Gwynns Falls neighborhood don't have access to a safe place to play. Most of the time, they end up playing in the street in the path of car traffic, or walking through unfamiliar/unsafe neighborhoods to get to parks. We're raising funds to buy land to turn into a neighborhood park!
This property is 1.25 acres of currently unused green space in the center of our neighborhood. The land is for sale, and at risk of being bought by a neighboring construction company and turned into a parking lot for heavy equipment. If you're able, consider a donation to help us save this green space and turn it into a safe park for the kids in this neighborhood.

Here, the cast and crew of 9 days on stage with @winstoncduke@zaziebeetz@mrtonyhale and so many other talented folks, receiving much deserved credit for their fantastic film.
So many themes in this festival about seeing yourself in others, overcoming fear and finding hope.
