Project Description:
This thesis explores how modular textile systems can support minimal, contemplative journeys such as backpacking pilgrimages, and multi-day treks. Rooted in values of mindfulness, sustainability, and intentional living, the project investigates how clothing, rest, and storage needs can be consolidated into adaptable, multifunctional forms. Drawing from my wider fashion practice, the project introduces a strong clothing and style dimension to demonstrate that self-expression, functionality, and mindful outdoor living are not mutually exclusive. Through iterative prototyping, material exploration, and user-centered research, the work proposes a soft modular system that reduces load while maintaining comfort, organization, and aesthetic intentionality during extended backpacking journeys.
