Damian Bao, CSA - a casting director, filmmaker, artist, and advocate whose work challenges the rules and redefines who gets to be seen and heard. From refugee camps to the streets of New Orleans, Damian’s own story has fueled a decade-long mission to tell authentic stories, amplify unheard voices, and champion inclusivity across film, fashion, music, and art. Headquartered in NYC, his casting studio blends actors, models, artists, real people, and street finds into bold, unforgettable projects - breaking barriers both in front of and behind the camera. Named to Good Morning America’s Inspiration List and a speaker at Sundance, SXSW, Tribeca, and Cannes, Damian continues to set a new standard for representation in storytelling. #CastingSociety #CSA #CelebrateCasting #CastingBy

3 of 3 Letters from DBC Talent Quite epic when it comes to full circle moments! It’s always nice to hear that something I did (even when I thought it was no big deal) meant the world to someone.  #CastMeDamian #damianbaocasting #casting #fyp — The talent who wrote this letter is a young Asian American woman who submitted to our online open call. Reality is there is a dearth of serious casting opportunities (in feature films) for Asian talent, especially for those who are: 1. not connected,  2. not represented,  3. not rich enough to pay for training or access, 4. not allowed by their parents to pursue the arts. When I started in this industry, I checked all 4 of those categories. To be honest, there were other Asians in the industry or those from a higher economic class and more privileged upbringing that were trying to block the door every step of my way. Phony people are always threatened when someone more authentic stands next to them, but it never fazed me. I was raised by a village of good souls and tough folks. I grew up hearing gun shots and seeing people I love die. I have seen the best and worst in humanity in refugee camps and underserved hoods. I lost the love of my life before I could even legally drink. A decade ago, even with all my successes and accolades, the mom of a woman I was dating snarked as she checked my background story and mocked my underdog status and fight for representation for voiceless communities as she persuaded her daughter to date a white man. My heart has been broken so many times; it is a muscle that has been trained to grow stronger and bigger. Everything positive, big or small, is a blessing to me. For talent who feel the walls are always growing taller and blocking you from being seen, I hope knowing that there is someone on the other side like me gives you a reason not to give up too quickly! BIG LOVE! xx DB P.S. I actually did post “The Subway” but Instagram deleted it due to the music. LOL… Maybe I will try again. It was a fun project to cast! And hope to share Chinese School film updates soon with you all!

2 of 3 Letters from DBC Talent A sweet Happy New Year message from a dancer, actor, model, and immigrant that I have booked several times. Thanks for the reminder… it’s the small majesties and winning together that fuel me. #CastMeDamian #damianbaocasting #casting #fyp — I love what I do for a living, but if you know me personally, you would know that I just want to have fun doing what I do in my own way. I don’t take the industry too seriously since fame does not entice me. However, the opportunity to connect and uplift other sentient beings while making art and rent!?! Now that sounds very up my alley! Lately, it has been tougher being an artist in a country that barely funds and supports the arts. And it’s even tougher to be an immigrant fighting to make art in a country that wants to re-write the fact that its greatness has always been built on the backs of immigrants and refugees (who came willingly or by force). I hope 2026 will be a year that we all find more passion or purpose in what we do (even if we feel it’s small) or a greater reason to fight harder for the right for everyone to exist to make art and tell their own stories. BIG LOVE! xx DB P.S. My IG inbox is 1000s of messages deep. If you’re trying to DM me about a project, please go to my website contact page for directions on how to get in touch. And if you are in my DM with questions or just want to shout out to be on my radar for the HYBE x Ryan Tedder Global Boy Group Open Call, you can email my office at [email protected]. Due to the volume of messages and emails, we may not reply to you immediately or at all if the answer is already there. And if you’re just looking for a sign or reason to give the casting a try, THIS IS YOUR SIGN TO SUBMIT AND REMEMBER TO HAVE FUN! ✌️😎 My office has the honor of watching every tape so looking forward to seeing YOU!

1of 3 Letters from DBC Talent Love seeing a talent’s growth throughout the years! I am very proud that my casting studio has given thousands of people their first audition opportunity, and I hope we will reach a million one day soon! A million dreams, a million fires lit… Hope is always worth sharing! #CastMeDamian #damianbaocasting #casting #fyp — I love my job, but I actually never dreamt of becoming a casting director or producer. I was not even aware those were careers (or attainable or realistic for me) when I was growing up… I’m also fully aware that it’s rare to be able to be a full time working artist, and especially one who gets to do what they want unapologetically. For that, I am very grateful for the position the universe has blessed me with. As 2026 has fully arrived on both the Gregorian Solar and Lunar calendars, I have been mostly on the road and deeply reflecting, and mourning still the loss of so many people I love. Before sharing my work again on social media, I want to take a moment to share these 3 recent letters from talents I have cast because I hope their words can inspire you to continue to chase after your dreams and to be open to try something new (at least once). And please remember that it is more rewarding to open the door wider so others can enter and join. It is my philosophy that if the room feels too crowded, let’s work together to break down the walls so we can build a bigger space — a kinder and more welcoming world for all. BIG LOVE! xx DB
