Thank you to all 729 attendees who came out to DAMCON 2 and making it such a memorable event! Despite the challenges leading up, we’re thrilled that everything went so well. This year was a massive step up from our 2023 show, and we hope everyone had an amazing time.

『EIHI SHIINA VISUALBUM』U.S. Premiere🇺🇸and 『AUDITION』Special Double Feature Screening (Held at the Texas Theatre)Report Part3
現地時間18時。いよいよここTEXAS THEATRE にて『EIHI SHIINA VISUALBUM』のU.S. Premiere🇺🇸が始まる。
劇場を埋め尽くした満員の観客の拍手に包まれながら、万感の想いで舞台に上がる。
伝わるかどうかなんて分からない。
けれど、どんな感じ方でもいい。
この日劇場に訪れてくれた人々の心に、
ほんの少しでも何かが伝われば嬉しい。
上映後、会場に響き渡る拍手を1番後ろの席で聞いた。私の頬には自然と涙が溢れていた。
隣で見守っていてくれた龍平さんが、『本当によく創ったよ‥英姫ちゃんの全てが詰まっていたね』と、優しく語りかけてくれて、この日この場所に立ち会っていただけた事に改めて感謝した。
上映後のQ&Aでは観客の皆と更に深く作品を分かち合うことが出来た。
私が物語に潜ませた細かな伏線や裏コードまで、余す事なく皆感じ取ってくれていた。涙を浮かべながら想いを語ってくれた女の子、劇中で私が抱いていた御霊の意味について、なぜ海から始まり桜で終わったのか、皆其々に想いを語ってくれた。
15年前の震災直後の4月、私はアメリカに居た。
あの日私が見た、感じた、様々な想い。
国境や言語の壁を越えて感じ合える『言葉』が在る事を、信じ、そして願い、私は『EIHI SHIINA VISUALBUM』を創った。
その願いは海を越えて人々に届いた。
足掛け15年に渡る、永い永い私の旅の
終わりであり始まりの日。
私は今日のことを死ぬまで忘れないだろう。
この日劇場に訪れてくれた全ての人々と、私の想いに寄り添ってくれた、龍平さんの完璧な通訳とサポートに心から感謝したい。
そしてこの素晴らしい機会をMakeしてくれた、DAMCONのスタッフと劇場のクルー、そして、これまでの私を支えてくれた、ビジュアルバムの全てのスタッフとファミリーに改めて感謝を。
ビジュアルバムの次は『AUDITION』の上映。
25年前の私と今の私の、全てが繋がった最高の夜だった。

『EIHI SHIINA VISUALBUM』U.S. Premiere🇺🇸Report Part 2
開場前のまだ誰も居ぬ劇場を眺めながら
上映前の音響と映像のチェックをする。
『EIHI SHIINA VISUALBUM』は
全編を通して台詞の無い映画
言語や国境の壁を越えて伝わる『言の葉』をテーマに、映像と音のみで物語を紡ぎ上げた私にとっての新たな表現への挑戦。
だからこそ、上映する環境はこの作品にとってとても大事。映像と音が完璧に融合したビジュアルバムの世界を、観客の皆様に最高の環境で体感してもらいたい。
アメリカに到着した日、私が音響の確認について相談していたら、その意味をいち早く理解してくれた龍平さんが、『英姫ちゃんわかった。当日は俺も一緒に行くから何も心配しなくて大丈夫だよ』と、チェックに一緒に立ち会う事を申し出てくれた。
それはきっと、私と私の作品を大切に想ってくれているから。これまで監督として多くの作品を世に送り出してきた龍平さんが、変わらずに作品と作り手の気持ちを大切にし続けている人だからだと思った。
龍平さんと劇場のオーナー、DAMCONクルーの協力のもと、ボリュームも完璧に調整する事が出来た。改めて私の想いに寄り添ってくれた皆に感謝がしたい。
いよいよ上映が始まる。
劇場に訪れる皆様にほんの少しでも、何かが伝わるといいなとそう願った。
I check the sound and visuals before the screening, gazing at the theater while it’s still empty, before the doors open.
*EIHI SHIINA VISUALBUM* is a film with no dialogue throughout.
With the theme of “words” that transcend the barriers of language and national borders, this film represents a new creative challenge for me—weaving a story using only visuals and sound.
That is precisely why the screening environment is so crucial for this work. I wanted the audience to experience the world of the Visual Album, where visuals and sound are perfectly fused, in the best possible setting.
With the theater’s cooperation, we were able to perfectly adjust the volume as well. I would like to once again express my gratitude to everyone who supported my vision.
