This month’s sound design was built around the hedonistic feeling of release. The aim of the show is to microdose you back into the clubs… one blend at a time.
Unfortunately, due to technical issues, this month’s show lost around 20 minutes 🫠
The system said “you had to be there” I guess.
Funnily enough, Wifey Bass Hour has never actually been a full hour. At this point I should rename it to Wifey Bass +/- 45 Minutes 😭
Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about performative connection in nightlife and what happens when dancefloors become more about documentation than experience. I’m aware I’m participating in it too.
There’s some really interesting writing around this, especially surrounding Boiler Room and post-COVID club culture. Comment “BOILER ROOM” and I’ll send you the document.
Maybe the answer isn’t rejecting digital culture completely, but finding ways to feel connected through it again.
