Dalma is a Berlin-based visual artist working in painting, collage, and wearable art. Her practice treats the human figure as a psychological arena shaped by inner and external forces. Figures often appear enclosed within themselves, holding emotion.
Through simplification, abstraction, strong silhouettes, and deliberate use of negative space, Dalma creates images that stand independently, without narrative or explicit expression. A sense of naïvety—less innocence than conscious reduction—strips away sophistication to reach something direct and emotionally unguarded. Black and white act as structural and psychological forces, articulating tension, silence, and boundaries. Absence of detail concentrates feeling, allowing the body to function as a vessel. Each painting is paired with a short text fragment responding to its title, reflecting atmosphere.
In collage, Dalma explores spontaneity and fragmentation, revealing containment, rupture, and re-contextualization. Across media, her work invites viewers into a quiet yet charged space, where emotional intensity remains contained.

A friend’s wise words still linger in my mind: “Be mindful of who you welcome into your world, for their troubles can swiftly become your own.” Truth to be told, these words raised a profound question within me - how can one lead a genuinely open, meaningful, and socially abundant life while maintaining a watchful eye on those we allow in? Must we remain guarded and skeptical, even when new people seemingly embody the traits of our ideal friends or partners? I came to realize that vigilance is indeed imperative, dont get me wrong, I am aware that this is not groundbreaking wisdom, but it’s a newfound revelation for me. I used to let people enter and exit my life, allowing them to build nests, take flights, love, hurt, respect, and ridicule me. I fell in love with each soul that drew near, but we know all well that in a brain-in-love, common sense finds itself often stranded.
The cacophony of others’ sharing the intricacies of their carefully curated character can clutter your mind and drown your own body’s wisdom. People craft self-portraits with their unique strokes, but it’s your duty to peer beyond the canvas to discover the artist behind the art. To see, you must slow down, just as listening is essential to hear the whisper of your body , that reveals vital cues about the artist hidden beneath the curated masterpiece.
Alignment is a binary state - you’re either in or not. The allure of the artwork and the artist’s charm can captivate you and can muffle the sound that tries to speak to you. Getting lost in someone is amazing. Falling in love, and marveling at unseen beauty is amazing!. But you know what’s even more exhilarating? Awareness. Learning to listen so that when signs of misalignment arise, you can listen some more until the message will reveal itself.
Fail to do this, and your home may metamorphose into a bizarre spectacle, a veritable carnival, with monkeys running around, despite your disdain of circuses, or monkeys living in places other than where they love it the most.
