OK. Blue Jays: Let's! Play! Ball! Three-peat Dal alum Josh Goreham (BSc’12, MSc’14, PhD’23) is the Toronto Blue Jays’ lead performance analyst. He’s responsible for helping the organization curate the millions of data points it collects on player workload and performance, delivering insights to the front lines to help players hit, run, throw and field to the best of their abilities over the course of a long season. The joy of helping the Blue Jays players reach their potential, and doing it within a team that puts people first, Goreham told Dal Magazine, is exactly why he does the work. After last year’s incredible run, we know many fans are watching the Jays this season, and hoping Goreham can take them all the way! @DalScience @BlueJays @JoshGoreham

From its auspicious beginning in community radio via CKDU to expansion into the podcasting world, Dal has been on the airwaves now for over four decades, reflecting wide-ranging tastes, interests and areas of expertise. Champions of the audio format point out that it not only develops skills and confidence in content creators, it also transfers knowledge, taking conversations and discoveries happening on Dal’s campuses to the broader community. What’s your favourite CKDU show or Dal podcast? Drop it in the comments! Happy Earth Day! Around the world, Dal alumni create sustainable solutions to mitigate our impact on the environment. Including Jay Wilmot (BComm’07), the founder and CEO of Canada’s first fully automated greenhouse operation, producing up to 12,000 pounds of crisp, fresh lettuce every day.

A fully renovated and modernized entrance lobby at Dalhousie’s Dentistry Building was unveiled and celebrated at a recent Dal event. Made possible through support from 123Dentist and Dr. Charanpal Ahluwalia (DDS’07), it is now a modern, welcoming, and fully accessible space. “This lobby is the front door to one of Canada’s most important dental schools, and it now looks the part,” said Dal alum Jeff Leger (BScPh’95), CEO of 123Dentist. In addition to aesthetic improvements, new automatic doors and an updated ramp have improved accessibility. Supporter Dr. Charanpal Ahluwalia (DDS’07) said he hopes his efforts inspire and motivate other alumni. Thank you to all who supported the project and attend the unveiling. @123_dentist @daldentistry @dal.dentistry

Jack Angele is a Dal marine biology student and underwater photographer who lives with a disability. With donor support that is shaping access, inclusion, and possibility for students with disabilities at Dalhousie, Jack is able to fully focus on his studies and interests. Incredible possibilities emerge when ability is funded, as evidenced by his amazing photos.
