Daisies, today â...and it bloomed in augustâ, our complete EP is finally available for streaming! đ„ł
Now, the work of a singer songwriter alone is thrilling- exploring stories in melody, realising a singular vision, bringing the unheard into the audible world. But what we have here is something else. It has taken us years to transform that solo process into a collective one, representing our four voices. The songs of âand it bloomed in augustâŠâ express this evolution and đŁđđđđđđĄđđŠ so. We folded the joy and struggle, fear and arguments settled, earnestness and dance, all of this into the music, to be experienced when you give it a listen. What's better still, is to know that this process of tapping into our collective songwriting, has opened up a whole new world. So hereâs to now, and hereâs to whatâs to come đ

âDonât let me be misunderstoodâ
Over the months we have been practicing our patience. I say this because this new song was ready to be heard even before the marvelous @royrecklies finished mastering it.
Before the beautiful @greggsberg mixed the sound to a tee.
Before the excessively talented @hanna_vaute laid down the moog.
This song unfolded as we puzzled at our existence, during doldrum lockdown meet ups in a small city apartment.
Who are we, and why are we, and who do we want to be?
It was finding sanctuary in the understanding of a friend. Thatâs what âthe world is quiet hereâ is about and thatâs what weâve wanted to share with you.
Here is our song that started this whole EP.

đŒïž Art has this most magical capacity to connect us to our humanity, even where words fail. Every piece we put out into the world has its affects, though that sphere of influence isnât usually visible.
Last year, @teilz_ceramics invited us to submit a design for her mosaic project to be displayed on the flower pots of Ehrenfeldâs KörnerstraĂe. As of last Saturday you can find a visible a piece of our music, bringing colour and life to the streets of the city we live. đ Thank you to Bea. What a joy to be part of such a wonderful project!

An Open Letter, new chapters
After almost 10 years of making music together we were due for a major shake up.
Our breaking news is that Jakob, our dear drummer and founding member of Daisy Grow Yellow will be hanging up his hat from DGY and moving on to a new chapter.
We owe him a great debt indeed; did you know that both the âDaisyâ and âYellowâ in our name we owe to his contributions?
Thatâs of course another story.
We who have played with him will miss his mild mannered calm, his sense of fairness and community, his joy in the little things, and most of all getting to play with our good friend.
We set off together, and though we will miss you, we are eternally grateful for the way we have had together.
âSo fill to me the parting glass, goodnight and joy be with you.â
Onward my man! â€ïž
Whatâs good, Dortmund!? Weâre making our way to you at @songs_and_cakes . Come through on Sunday (08.03) - let us play you into the new week đ
See you there!
yours truly
