Thought I’d bring in the new year right
Meet Metamorphosis (2025), a project thats been in the making for the last few months. I wanted to explore how movement with the human body can mimic aspects of nature. I find it humbling to recognize the similarities between us and the earth - as we are it and it is us - changing, growing and evolving every year, week, day, second and so on… embracing our impermanence in full

The song you’re hearing “Dreamer Too by @hotcocoacartel ” has been inspiring da fuck outta me leading to the visualization of this project, along with a couple other bodies of work. The song acts as an accentuation of this series - embodying the healing powers that nature brings us. I hope it inspires you as much as it did for me. Now go hug a tree

Bringing in a new age, with a new art series! I present to you ~ Rooted in Intersectionality ~
This series was captured in my hometown on the Southside of Chicago and speaks to the connection between Blackness and our indigeneity to the Earth - originating in Africa. I dissect how environmental racism historically and presently excluded Black people - especially Black women - from green spaces, from nature, from peace.
Through ethereal imagery, I reclaim that space.
~We belong to the land. We are the land ~

But wait.. there’s more!
The second part of my art series, Rooted in Intersectionality, is here.
This series is a metamorphosis - an embodiment of the artist I’m becoming and already am. It’s the voice of truth and intuition, captured through photography. After Dajana and I wrapped this shoot, we both knew it was going to be something special. This has, by far, been the most meaningful body of work I’ve created to date - and still I have so much more within me to create and share.
Thank you for the love you’ve shown on this project. We both feel it deeply🩶

in the highlands of northern vietnam, i found warmth in the heart of the hmong people. we learned about the art of indigo dyeing, savored meals born from the land and rested in homes woven in tradition. this part of our journey was rooted in connection and learning
