✨ October bliss mini cake for 2… This sweet elopement of Christine and Wendell was made even more precious as I had the honor of hosting them in my Aerie Loft Bnb studio for their Moab stay. The photographer was working on their birthday, so the bride wanted to plan a surprise cupcake to honor all those present. Such a fun and massive table cake, complete with custom “About Damn Time” 😝😍 rusted metal plate platter, marriage of deep chocolate and light blueberry lemon, finished in a silky smooth cream cheese frosting. Local flowers picked straight from the garden @farmyardmoab . The couple’s number one goal was to make sure everyone had enough cake… don’t have to ask this girl twice! Thank you for trusting me with your special day @kenzie_marie_b , this creation was such a joy for me!

A sleek mascarpone raspberry sour cream tangy lemon curd cake for the most elegant lady I know, @britasig on her magical wedding day with the handsome @timmcchesney . En route we were blessed with a 🌈— always a good sign. Energetic reassurance from the beloved pup promenade— always my favorite. The most amount of rain that has fallen in slc in one day since 1911 fell on their epic wedding day— blessing from the gods that these snow bunnies (Olympic skiers ❄️🎿) would exchange their vows in the misty serene foothills just as the first snow of 2025 was gently coating the mountains. Always trust the weather and lean in! So greatful for the help of my husband, a borrowed umbrella, and expert driver on windy roads to get this cake safe to its final resting place. I perfected my use of fingers as suspension under the frozen marble stand 🫰 Favorite part— sneak peak of Brita and Tim in the dressing room I stumbled into accidentally, all smiles🤍 We all danced barefoot in the rain, did shot skis on 2 gorgeous custom made skis gifts, and eras and layers of wonderful humans melded together into night I will never forget. As a cake maker, I know I can count it when multiple people throughout the night tell me “I have to tell you, I don’t like cake, but I love this cake”. ✨

…Slow and easy… Is exactly as I would hum this wedding, for days of folding love into this red velvet dream, while wrapping myself in the trail of honey energy Emily and Alex seem to leave everywhere they go. The energy of their love is beyond words For one of my dearest, @emilyblairceramics - it was an honor to take over your little kitchen that could and make your wedding cake It was magic 🌷 and it was so frikin much fun Ps, this was the song they had there first dance to, and Im telling you we were all crying and smiling and hugging each other all at the same time Pss this wild bride made 180 unique handmade mugs for her guests, I mean.. whoa.

When a cake maker makes her own wedding cake… It was magic, chaos, delicious, epic, and lasted till breakfast. All my favorites…. My mama’s almond poppyseed orange glaze, berry lemon curd with layers of hand picked garden raspberries and the all natural red velvet with choco cream chz, wrapped snug under a chilled blanket of marscapone whipped cream (…She needs all the help she can get) Here is to baking 12 sheets of cake while planning your wedding, to forgetting the frikin cake in your freezer, to last minute custom plank board making, to your best girls assembling all day under and sky light, to shuttle gymnastics with a cool cake on summer solstice up a long dirt road, to co lab literal last minute decorating, to our samari sword carving, and to the most cake feasting dance party with everyone I love in one place at one time…. To marrying the love of my life 🤍 Huge thanks to all. I will be reliving this cake for the rest of my life :) 🤘🏻📸 @metteblackburnphoto
