Arsenal fan or not ā I hope to see you man in a bit āš¾š¤
ā Arsenal fans, donāt you feel like this Lewis-Skelly situation has gotten out of handā¦
Questioning his relationship with Arteta, narratives around his game time, the rumours about loans ā itās all a bit crazy for a 19 year old who broke into the first team last season.
Yes heās amazing, and I 100% see why people are confused as to whatās happening. But to me, itās clear that itās purely tactical.
Artetaās set up in the Premier League is very different to the way he sets up in the Champions League. And the change in set up requires different personnel.
So I really donāt think thereās any real need to panic or jump to conclusions with this situation.
Lewis-Skellyās 19, extremely talented, and thereās plenty of football to be played this season.
He will get his chance.
š What do you make of the situation?

ā The Premier League fullbacks with the lowest dribbled past percentage this season.
Jurrien Timber? This guyās moving crazy this season.
ā Lowest dribbled past percentage in the league (9%)
ā Highest tackles per 90 at Arsenal (2.8)
ā Part of a backline thatās conceded just 10 league goals
And thatās just the defending.
Going the other way?
ā 2 goals
ā 2 assists
ā 4th in the Arsenal squad for touches in the opposition box
Heās been insane this season. And remember, this guy came off a terrible ACL injury last year.
For me ā Timberās setting the standard at fullback right now.
š Where does he rank among the top fullbacks in the league for you?

ā How do you beat this PSG side?
Just deep it for a second.
A team where the player with the most minutes this season has only played around 200 more than Calafioriā¦
A team that, in my opinion, has:
ā The best front three in the world
ā The best fullback pairing
ā Debatably the best DM in Vitinha
ā And a world class manager
Look⦠as the great @alexmoneypenny said:
āFreshness is the new currency of football.ā
But when you combine that freshnessā¦
With a side this talented?
And an elite-level coach?
I canāt lie.
That is a scary combo.
But despite what the āArteta Outā brigade may sayā¦
I genuinely believe if anyone can find a way to do it, itās Arteta.
And like I said ā in a final, anything can happen.
I just wonder how heās going to approach it.
Does he take the game to them?
Does he go a lot more pragmatic than usual?
How does he nullify that front three?
How does he make sure Vitinha doesnāt run the show?
But regardless of what the approach is.
Against a side this good?
Heās going to have to put on a genuine masterclass.
And I canāt lieā¦
Iām excited to see what he comes up with.
š If you were Arteta, how would you approach this Champions League final?

ā I told you Lewis-Skelly just needed time...
And now,
He could genuinely be the key to Arsenal securing this double.
Since heās been out the side, itās always felt like we were missing something.
But at the same timeā¦
We all knew he wasnāt very comfortable at left back.
And now heās actually back, and playing in midfield?
We finally look like a team that wants to progress the ball forward again.
Weāve seriously missed someone with his skill set:
ā Comfortable receiving in tight spaces
ā Dribbling out of pressure
ā Line-breaking passes
And yes, Arteta probably shouldāve played him in midfield months ago.
But one thing this does mean...
We no longer have to rely on a double pivot whoāve both played 4,000+ minutes this season.
We now have a midfielder whoās actually fresh.
And from what weāve seen in just two starts in midfieldā¦
It would be crazy if he wasnāt one of the first names on the team sheet from here on out.
š Do you think Lewis-Skelly is the final piece that can help Arsenal secure the double?

ā Happy with the win⦠but wow, we were not ruthless.
When Havertz and Eze were on the pitchā¦
Our attack actually looked fluid.
And the goal we scored?
Madueke ā Havertz ā Eze.
Thatās exactly why Ezeās in this team.
No one else gives you moments like that.
But when they both went downā¦
Going back to the Martinelli, Gyƶkeres, Madueke combo?
I couldnāt believe it.
And yet again, everything went flat.
That 20-minute spell after Eze went off says it all:
ā No real chances.
ā Just going long and hoping Gyƶkeres could win it.
And in a title race this tight?
We have to move away from what clearly doesnāt work.
Still⦠3 points is 3 points.
And there were positives:
ā Saka getting minutes
ā Lewis-Skelly in midfield
ā Ćdegaard and Eze together
Which is a huge positive for our next fixtures.
But we canāt ignore the fact ā we need to find a better plan B to Martinelli and Gyƶkeres.
Especially when goal difference could decide this title.

ā Yes I have something in my hair
ā No I didnāt realize until I finished editing š¤£
ā Arteta cannot go with this front three again...
When Gyƶkeres, Martinelli and Madueke are on the pitch together... our open play xG drops to 0.14.
And in a title race this tight?
Playing that combo again will basically be handing City the title.
Donāt get me wrong, individually they all bring something.
Especially Madueke ā his dribbling ability can be a real asset going forward.
But Gyƶkeres and Martinelli together?
It just doesnāt work.
Two players that are both:
Not very creative
And thrive off service.
So when theyāre on the pitch together, the whole attack ends up looking unbalanced.
And right now?
At this point in the title race?
We donāt have time for that.
This is a straight shootout with City.
And when it comes down to closing in on a league title...
Weāve all seen it before.
You have to be near perfect to beat them to it.
The thing is, the manager doesnāt need to play this front three.
The solutions are already in the squad.
And if that City game tells us anything.
Itās that Arteta may finally be willing to use them.

P.S⦠šš¾
ā *This was recorded before Man City vs. Arsenal*
ā Tough one to takeā¦
Because for me, it wasnāt a bad performance at all.
From the jump, I thought Arteta got the line up near enough perfect.
And the game ended up being pretty even.
But at the end of the dayā¦
They took their chances.
And we didnāt.
And now?
Itās out of our hands.
The frustrating part is, thereās not one single person to blame for the loss.
And weirdly, there are positives to takeaway from game ā especially the fact Arteta is finally showing heās willing to switch things up.
The only question isā¦
Has he left it too late?
Like I said, I donāt think the title race is done.
I still think it goes down to the final day.
Itās just frustrating knowing we now have to rely on City dropping points...
And in a title race?
Weāve seen what theyāre capable of.
š Do you think Arsenal can get it over the line, or do you think history will repeat itself?

ā We will lose this title if we donāt start seeing tweaks from Arteta.
Weāve seen it time and time againā¦
At the business end of a title race, the best managers always adjust something.
Artetaās built a solid system.
But this poor run of form is a reminder that you canāt stand still in a title race.
Yes weāve been very good this season.
But right now, it feels like:
ā Our attackers donāt have enough creative freedom
ā Weāre struggling to build from the back
ā And weāre just not seeing enough variation in the line ups
And the thing is...
The solutions to our problems can be found in our squad.
Theyāre not big changes.
But small tweaks can make a big difference.
Weāre at the stage of the season where itās not just about having the better team.
Itās about holding your nerve.
Identifying the small issues.
And making the right adjustments at the right time.
Itās the fine margins thatāll be the difference between winning your first Prem in 22 years,
or becoming the first Prem team ever to finish second 4 years in a row.
š What changes would you like to see Arteta make?

ā Arsenalās unbeaten run in the Champions League is actually ridiculousā¦
11 games.
0 losses.
Athletic Club ā
Olympiacos ā
Atletico Madrid ā
Slavia Prague ā
Bayern Munich ā
Club Brugge ā
Inter Milan ā
Kairat ā
Bayer Leverkusen ā ā
Sporting CP ā
This run is one thing, but the way theyāve been playing...
ā Big away wins
ā Victories against 3 of the current quarter finalists
ā Dominating almost every game
And you might think we play haramball in the Prem.
But in the Champions League?
Itās been a completely different story.
Free flowing.
High scoring.
Still defensively solid.
As things stand, the possibility of an Arsenal vs Athletico semi final is very high.
And it feels like this team has a bigger chance now more than ever to get all the way to the final.
And who knows... with the way things are going right now, maybe even take it one step further.
