→ Arsenal fans, don’t you feel like this Lewis-Skelly situation has gotten out of hand… Questioning his relationship with Arteta, narratives around his game time, the rumours about loans — it’s all a bit crazy for a 19 year old who broke into the first team last season. Yes he’s amazing, and I 100% see why people are confused as to what’s happening. But to me, it’s clear that it’s purely tactical. Arteta’s set up in the Premier League is very different to the way he sets up in the Champions League. And the change in set up requires different personnel. So I really don’t think there’s any real need to panic or jump to conclusions with this situation. Lewis-Skelly’s 19, extremely talented, and there’s plenty of football to be played this season. He will get his chance. šŸ’ What do you make of the situation? Share your thoughts ā¤µļø

→ The Premier League fullbacks with the lowest dribbled past percentage this season. Jurrien Timber? This guy’s moving crazy this season. → Lowest dribbled past percentage in the league (9%) → Highest tackles per 90 at Arsenal (2.8) → Part of a backline that’s conceded just 10 league goals And that’s just the defending. Going the other way? → 2 goals → 2 assists → 4th in the Arsenal squad for touches in the opposition box He’s been insane this season. And remember, this guy came off a terrible ACL injury last year. For me — Timber’s setting the standard at fullback right now. šŸ’ Where does he rank among the top fullbacks in the league for you? Share your thoughts ā¤µļø

→ How do you beat this PSG side? Just deep it for a second. A team where the player with the most minutes this season has only played around 200 more than Calafiori… A team that, in my opinion, has: → The best front three in the world → The best fullback pairing → Debatably the best DM in Vitinha → And a world class manager Look… as the great @alexmoneypenny said: ā€œFreshness is the new currency of football.ā€ But when you combine that freshness… With a side this talented? And an elite-level coach? I can’t lie. That is a scary combo. But despite what the ā€œArteta Outā€ brigade may say… I genuinely believe if anyone can find a way to do it, it’s Arteta. And like I said — in a final, anything can happen. I just wonder how he’s going to approach it. Does he take the game to them? Does he go a lot more pragmatic than usual? How does he nullify that front three? How does he make sure Vitinha doesn’t run the show? But regardless of what the approach is. Against a side this good? He’s going to have to put on a genuine masterclass. And I can’t lie… I’m excited to see what he comes up with. šŸ’ If you were Arteta, how would you approach this Champions League final? → I told you Lewis-Skelly just needed time... And now, He could genuinely be the key to Arsenal securing this double. Since he’s been out the side, it’s always felt like we were missing something. But at the same time… We all knew he wasn’t very comfortable at left back. And now he’s actually back, and playing in midfield? We finally look like a team that wants to progress the ball forward again. We’ve seriously missed someone with his skill set: → Comfortable receiving in tight spaces → Dribbling out of pressure → Line-breaking passes And yes, Arteta probably should’ve played him in midfield months ago. But one thing this does mean... We no longer have to rely on a double pivot who’ve both played 4,000+ minutes this season. We now have a midfielder who’s actually fresh. And from what we’ve seen in just two starts in midfield… It would be crazy if he wasn’t one of the first names on the team sheet from here on out. šŸ’ Do you think Lewis-Skelly is the final piece that can help Arsenal secure the double? → Arsenal’s defence in the Champions League this season has been another level… Goals conceded: 27 — AtlĆ©tico 21 — PSG 19 — Bayern 6 — Arsenal 😳 Six. In the entire campaign. 13 goals less than the next best team. And yeah… you could say our knockout stage fixtures have been favorable. But we can’t forget the sides we played in the league phase... → Inter (a) — only conceding 1. → Bayern (h) — only conceding 1. → AtlĆ©tico (h) — clean sheet. Everybody says defence wins you titles. But can this defence carry them all the way in the Champions League? šŸ’ If Arsenal reach the final, can this defence hold up against the front three of PSG or Bayern? Share your thoughts ā¤µļø

→ Happy with the win… but wow, we were not ruthless. When Havertz and Eze were on the pitch… Our attack actually looked fluid. And the goal we scored? Madueke → Havertz → Eze. That’s exactly why Eze’s in this team. No one else gives you moments like that. But when they both went down… Going back to the Martinelli, Gyƶkeres, Madueke combo? I couldn’t believe it. And yet again, everything went flat. That 20-minute spell after Eze went off says it all: → No real chances. → Just going long and hoping Gyƶkeres could win it. And in a title race this tight? We have to move away from what clearly doesn’t work. Still… 3 points is 3 points. And there were positives: āœ… Saka getting minutes āœ… Lewis-Skelly in midfield āœ… Ƙdegaard and Eze together Which is a huge positive for our next fixtures. But we can’t ignore the fact — we need to find a better plan B to Martinelli and Gyƶkeres. Especially when goal difference could decide this title. šŸ’ How do you feel about today’s performance? → Arteta cannot go with this front three again... When Gyƶkeres, Martinelli and Madueke are on the pitch together... our open play xG drops to 0.14. And in a title race this tight? Playing that combo again will basically be handing City the title. Don’t get me wrong, individually they all bring something. Especially Madueke — his dribbling ability can be a real asset going forward. But Gyƶkeres and Martinelli together? It just doesn’t work. Two players that are both: Not very creative And thrive off service. So when they’re on the pitch together, the whole attack ends up looking unbalanced. And right now? At this point in the title race? We don’t have time for that. This is a straight shootout with City. And when it comes down to closing in on a league title... We’ve all seen it before. You have to be near perfect to beat them to it. The thing is, the manager doesn’t need to play this front three. The solutions are already in the squad. And if that City game tells us anything. It’s that Arteta may finally be willing to use them. šŸ’ What front three gets Arsenal over the line in this title race? → Tough one to take… Because for me, it wasn’t a bad performance at all. From the jump, I thought Arteta got the line up near enough perfect. And the game ended up being pretty even. But at the end of the day… They took their chances. And we didn’t. And now? It’s out of our hands. The frustrating part is, there’s not one single person to blame for the loss. And weirdly, there are positives to takeaway from game — especially the fact Arteta is finally showing he’s willing to switch things up. The only question is… Has he left it too late? Like I said, I don’t think the title race is done. I still think it goes down to the final day. It’s just frustrating knowing we now have to rely on City dropping points... And in a title race? We’ve seen what they’re capable of. šŸ’ Do you think Arsenal can get it over the line, or do you think history will repeat itself? Share your thoughts ā¤µļø

→ The Arsenal keepers with the most clean sheets in Champions League history. And David Raya is just on another level… → 33 Champions League games → 18 clean sheets → Already number one all-time for the club The guy only joined in 2023… And he’s already top of the list. And when you deep it… This isn’t just stat-padding against the smaller teams. He’s played the likes of: šŸ”µ PSG āšŖļø Real Madrid šŸ”“ AtlĆ©tico Madrid And still kept clean sheets. Don’t get me wrong, I loved Ramsdale. But bringing in Raya? Might be one of the best decisions this club has made in recent years. šŸ’ Do you think Raya could be the best keeper in the world right now? Share your thoughts ā¤µļø

→ We will lose this title if we don’t start seeing tweaks from Arteta. We’ve seen it time and time again… At the business end of a title race, the best managers always adjust something. Arteta’s built a solid system. But this poor run of form is a reminder that you can’t stand still in a title race. Yes we’ve been very good this season. But right now, it feels like: → Our attackers don’t have enough creative freedom → We’re struggling to build from the back → And we’re just not seeing enough variation in the line ups And the thing is... The solutions to our problems can be found in our squad. They’re not big changes. But small tweaks can make a big difference. We’re at the stage of the season where it’s not just about having the better team. It’s about holding your nerve. Identifying the small issues. And making the right adjustments at the right time. It’s the fine margins that’ll be the difference between winning your first Prem in 22 years, or becoming the first Prem team ever to finish second 4 years in a row. šŸ’ What changes would you like to see Arteta make? → Arsenal’s unbeaten run in the Champions League is actually ridiculous… 11 games. 0 losses. Athletic Club āœ… Olympiacos āœ… Atletico Madrid āœ… Slavia Prague āœ… Bayern Munich āœ… Club Brugge āœ… Inter Milan āœ… Kairat āœ… Bayer Leverkusen āœ…āœ… Sporting CP āœ… This run is one thing, but the way they’ve been playing... → Big away wins → Victories against 3 of the current quarter finalists → Dominating almost every game And you might think we play haramball in the Prem. But in the Champions League? It’s been a completely different story. Free flowing. High scoring. Still defensively solid. As things stand, the possibility of an Arsenal vs Athletico semi final is very high. And it feels like this team has a bigger chance now more than ever to get all the way to the final. And who knows... with the way things are going right now, maybe even take it one step further. šŸ’ Who are your favorites for the Champions League this season? Share your thoughts ā¤µļø
