Putting myself through school was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but the sacrifice was so worth it in the end.
Six years. Four moves. A full-time job plus an internship. A whole pandemic. Two strikes. And those unforgiving nyc bills (gurllll)
There were so many moments when getting this degree felt out of reach. But “no” was never a final answer for me. I had already invested too much in myself. I had shit to prove!!
Through it all, God had everything aligned for us.
Having my sister by my side, also earning her degree (I did graduate a day before you though, so yes I’m still first-gen🤞), and our family backing our dreams with love? That made it even more meaningful.
This is more than just a degree.
It’s a reminder that I will finish what I start—no sweat, light work.
Did I mention I’m first-gen? 💜🎓
