4 years of Daffodillā£ļø 4 years of blood sweat and tears that Iāve poured into this business. 4 years of being my own boss, and cultivating the discipline to show up over and over and over again, even when no one was looking. 4 years of clay everywhere. 4 years of meeting the sweetest people in the world. 4 years of providing a space for people to learn, to connect, to create. 4 years of the most challenging and rewarding job I have ever had.
I signed my first commercial lease at 23, and opened this business at 24. Iām 28 now. Daffodill and I have spent most of our twenties together. Weāve been through so much together. When everything else has felt like itās falling apart around me, this physical space has been my stable check point throughout it all.
It is an honor and an immense privilege that I was given the opportunity to open this business. Iāve had many guardian angels who have believed in me, given me the chance, and helped make it possible. āGratefulā barely scratches the surface of how I feel.
We recently hit the 3000 order mark. We have had hundreds of classes, thousands of students, and thousands of projects made. Weāre in our second space (moved, not additional) and finally feeling mostly settled.
I am the sole owner of this business, but to say that Iāve done it alone would be a lie. We could not be here without all of our amazing teachers, our admin staff, and everyone who has helped us with studio projects big and small along the way. We couldnāt be here without all the people who want to learn and play and show up for classes. We couldnāt be here without the people who fall in love with clay and continue their practice as members. We couldnāt be here without all of youš
This business means so much to me, so much more than I could ever explain, but the biggest reason it means so much is because of all the connection it has created. Weāve had students cry in classes, share big news, come with updates on things that have happened since last week. Weāve heard stories, secrets, gossip. Weāve watched people struggle while learning and keep showing up.
