So honored to be featured as one of the first articles written for The Neighborhood Homegirl ✨ To be able to express a lot of my intentions with this club as well as my connection towards books was an amazing reflective process for me (had to give a shoutout to my mom, thanks for all of your goofy narration voices as a kid!) I’m very grateful to have such a positive light shed on what I am doing within my community with my book club, Word2Dae! 📚 Check the article out and support the newly launched online magazine, The Neighborhood Homegirl at theneighborhoodhomegirl.com. And if you haven’t already, check out my book club and join! I would personally love to have you all🫂. @word2dae 📸: @lolalistensphotography

My new site Daetyas.com is now complete and gives a look into my art and ongoing projects. As of now, you can check out some of my photographs from my archive throughout the years as well as poems I’ve written. My art is centered on various visual intentions, but my site really showcases and reflects the core of what I love to capture: family, community, and the beautiful passing moments in life that make up our memories. Will be sharing more projects I’ve been working on, so if you like what you see look out for more that I will post…✨ And if you visit my site, thank you for experiencing my art. Let me know what you think!

The Princess Diaries 👑 She rocks, she rules, she reigns! Of course I had to take it too far and be the one grown up princess at my niece’s 4th birthday party because I am truly whimsical, royal, and well… simply a princess 🤷🏽‍♀️ You can call me the Princess of Genovia— address me as your royal highness. Love celebrating Troi every year and documenting her milestones, miss 2/2/22 🍀✨ I remember watching the The Princess Diaries with my sister and now she has a 4 year old. I had a good time celebrating. Princess Tiana & the Princess of Genovia linked up!

I had an amazing start to my year viewing my work in Philadelphia. My photograph “The Ice Cream Truck On Bonsallo Avenue” (2021) is part of the selection of works presented by the Charles L. Blockson Afro-American Collection at Temple University’s Charles Library Gallery for the Reflections In Black: A Reframing exhibition. I’m grateful to be apart of the continued success of Deborah Willis’ book Reflections in Black: A History of Black Photographers 1840 to the Present— the first comprehensive history of Black photographers. Dr. Deb, thank you for all of the relevant work you are doing in art. It is much needed for now and the future. It means so much to me that I get to be included in such intentional curation and apart of something so significant! @debwillisphoto Check out the exhibition at Temple University located at: 1900 N 13th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19122. On view until April 15, 2026! 📸 Thank you to @thekyrawilliams for capturing the moment for me 📸
