๐๐ฏ๐ท๐ฆ๐ช๐ญ๐ฆ๐ฅ ๐๐ฆ๐ด๐ช๐ณ๐ฆ๐ด: Artist Spotlight
@daddybearsxc is a British textile artist and sculptor based in London. She received her MA in menswear design from the @royalcollegeofart and uses her knowledge of pattern cutting for garments to create three- dimensional objects away from the body.
Typically using smooth and lustrous satins, she fashions sensuous fantasy sculptures, bringing a fresh take to traditional techniques that have rarely been seen manipulated in this way. ๐๐ข๐ฏ๐ต๐ข๐ด๐บ ๐๐ข๐ณ๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ฏ (image 1) and ๐๐ข๐ฏ๐ต๐ข๐ด๐บ ๐๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฆ (image 2), made specifically for the show are a result of responding to Suzanne Van Dammeโs ๐๐ถ๐ฅ๐ฆ ๐๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ข๐ฏ ๐ช๐ฏ ๐ข ๐๐ข๐ฏ๐ต๐ข๐ด๐บ ๐๐ข๐ฏ๐ฅ๐ด๐ค๐ข๐ฑ๐ฆ and a continuation of themes in her practice, such as safe spaces and the home.
