Been a while since our Thursday date hike. Why I love this woman so much ❤️ Never a dull moment and never time to sit still and idle life away. Life in the fast lane with @herbie_bean ❤️
Right, I’m off for a lie down 🤣
In my first K2B last year, I never thought I could achieve such a distance of 39.5 miles. This year I did it again and with thoughts of walking just a little quicker. I’ve trained a lot through the winter. Trail walks, fell walks, 5k runs and 20 miles bike rides all on a regular basis. Setting off walking yesterday at 5.15am I looked forward to the day ahead, but I never expected what would come from deep inside me. Let’s just run the first downhill, I thought and so I did. Then walk again. From there on I walked and only ran the downhills. I never expected I could or would, but I did. As I approached the last mile, I once again broke into a jog and found strength from I don’t know where. In doing so, I achieved a time of 11:49:21 (10:51:00 active time) and beat last years personal time by a significant margin.
At 55 years old I feel proud of my achievement, but also mindful of the blessing of each year I stay in good health. I support St John’s Hospice for all the incredible care and support they give.
In memory of Jason Williams ❤️
So I ask once more to go to the link in my profile and donate however much you can afford. Thank you.
Why wouldn’t I?
If you don’t live your life to the fullest, then you’re letting down those who weren’t so fortunate!!
That’s why!!!
I will likely get blisters, my hips will ache like mad for a month afterwards and my knees will barely work for weeks, but that’s nothing compared to those with terminal illnesses.
@stjohnshospice are saints! Simple as!
I know times are hard financially, but any little amount you can afford to donate will go a long way.
