I had the distinct pleasure of getting to work with the @_vesselsoflove_ team this year to light a 3 story infinity heart slide complete with interactive sensors that sends burst with light down the chute with you as you slide down. @alberto_amps@benarbib2424 , and @dadazito , were amazing total dream team!
This is full circle as the very first big art installation/car was also an infinity heart called the @chariotofinfinitelove back in 2009. This year was the first time the chariot’s been back on playa in ages. And of course, as I like to do, I made sure that the art installation and the art car could wirelessly sync with each other. 🧙♂️🌈

Never thought I would be so close to climate change consequences
Hawai’i north shore been hit hard for 15 days with catastrophic floods. We were stuck in a little bit of high ground for 6 hours hoping the water would come down enough to go back to a friends house since coming back to our house/tent in the farm was impossible.
Although this destroyed multiple neighborhoods was incredible seeing the community response, coming together in the complete absence of the government entities (fema, governor, city )
A moment, a love, A dream, a goal, A set of skin, a heart and soul.

the LuckyBurn13, after promising I wasn’t going to go this year, my homie James was like, you want to go build a gigantic 3 story high heartslide?? And I couldn’t say no. Joining @_vesselsoflove_ (thanks @benarbib2424 ) was absolutely the best burn experience that I could ever have. We camped for 20 days straight in the deep playa while building this gigantic goddamn slide that nothing lined up, but we made it work with the help of DPW and a lot of anger, hammers and ratchet straps. Then after building this through the craziest dust storm with 80 knot winds and rains a day in day off, we finally got to burn But of course the playa had different plans. As we built and rebuilt our camp three times, at first we had a hexayurt that got destroyed by the wind, then we re-taped that bitch up, and then the wind destroyed it, the rain destroyed it, and then we rebuilt it again, but at that point we just decided to squat and take someone else’s tent….and as always playa serendipity was as strong this year. It was like 80,000 people but we could always find our Ohana in Hawaii no matter where we went. So, also shot out to my taking favorite virgin of all times, my baby boo, Cassandra, basically she’s a professional burner. She just never went home from full on being build lead as well as just being an overall seasoned veteran that actually built deep playa art and part of the Hawaii Fire Conclave with Hawaii Fire Artists. So proud of her. Not a sparkle pony but a sparkle horse. So yeah, thank you Black Rock City. As always, this burn was the worst and we didn’t have fun at all. Never coming back. fuck your burn.
