Five years into tooling and I’ve decided after this break, what better time than now to retrain myself how to use a traditional swivel knife.
Why you may ask? Here’s the tea….
The yolk-less knife I’ve become famous for using is made exclusively by a Tr**p supporter, and I just morally can’t continue to use or promote something tied to such dogsh*t. I’ve never once been paid by said maker, in fact, I’ve been asked on more than one occasion the free use of my content to help promote his product. I’ve also had countless people tell me they purchased a knife after seeing me use it, and the maker himself even reached out and thanked me at one point. He said he had made me a gift, but then took it back when I told him I live in Canada. I no longer wish to promote products I don’t align with, and I especially no longer wish to do free labour on a platform I worked very hard to build.
If you think this is ridiculous, or you’re a supporter of that fascist, please, go right ahead and hit that unfollow button. This is a not so subtle reminder that this is a queer, female owned business. Okay byeeeeee ✌️
I only make leopard print belts now.
I’m burnt out as all hell as a result, I had a pretty serious neurodivergent meltdown the other day, and have been trying very hard to build the ol serotonin bank back up ever since. A new belt is something I’ve been meaning to tackle forever (my previous belt is now eight inches too big), and I decided today would finally be the day.
Anywho, that’s my overshare for the day. I guess what I’m trying to say is, don’t forget to make yourself nice things too. You deserve it.

The number one question I get asked is always “why Dad Hands?” This is it right here, for a decade and a half before I ever picked up my first set of leather tools, I was holding a welder, and grinders and all kinds of tools. Been back living shop life again, and boy oh boy, has it ever been fun.
