A breath of light, commissioned by the National Committee for 4 and 5 May.
LEVENSLICHT (Light of Life) began in Rotterdam and travelled to 170 municipalities across the Netherlands in 2020. The stones returned to the homes, schools, and streets where these lives were once lived, bringing memory back into everyday space.
Each pulse of light is a presence. A call to remember.

Glowing traces of light-sensitive pigments and natural stone reveal the earth’s hidden energy at Thor Park in Genk, Belgium. 🌍💡
As night falls, the permanent public artwork LICHTSPOREN (Traces) illuminates the historic mining landscape, where nature, technology, and deep heritage come together. No trees were cut, the artwork merges with the existing landscape.
