Proud to announce that the GET LIKE ME music video I directed for COTTONMOUF is out now. Elsa and I shot this in East New York last fall, at her crib and the moment we saw that blue wall, we knew. That was the shot. Multiple locations, 3 looks from my closet, custom giant heel prop, millions of ring pops & 1 handheld camera. Eternally grateful to @elsssssssaaaa , who absolutely smashed this with me, showing up with the best kind of creative energy and sharp eyes anyone could ask for. The way we leaned into creative madness as a duo was something special. 𝙖 𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙥𝙝𝙤𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙗𝙮 @yo.k3 & @da4a4a4a probably our most unserious serious one yet DA is wearing this big victorian skirt, uncomfortable, stiff, dramatic, kind of ridiculous, and kind of familiar. it brought up old feelings DA thought they’d outgrown. set in a liminal classroom, like the ones where it used to be uniform, not choice. where it told people what DA was before they could we started out just messing around, styling ideas, trying things on. but then something shifted. it wasn’t just dress-up anymore. something came back with the skirt. not just memory and tension, but also this weird, unexpected calm. being in front of ELSA’S camera felt safe enough to let it all come through. maybe that’s the whole point when your person is also your collaborator, you get to make space like this ✧ ˚。𖠋 ᵎᵎ photographer and set design @yo.k3 creative direction @da4a4a4a @yo.k3 starring @da4a4a4a words @da4a4a4a @yo.k3
