Featuring Gateway Childcare Centre completed in 2022. Designed to be handed over to the District of West Vancouver, this 37-capacity childcare is located on the second floor of the Gateway Residences at Park Royal. It is a purpose-built facility that followed the Richmond Childcare Design Standards.
Along with a daylight-filled functional interior, the centre includes an adjacent south-facing outdoor play area. As with all childcare facilities in multi-use buildings, the direct, secure and accessible circulation from at-grade entrance and parking drop-offs is important to the success of the centre.

Construction Update: The exterior façade of our Cloverley Elementary School project is starting to take shape with the main entrance canopy in place and insulation of brick veneer is nearly completed. Pictured in the first photo is one of the corner balconies that take advantage of the unique triangular tower floorplate, shaped by the false creek south view cone. Last Friday our office visited the construction site at the Richards and Drake project. The tower is now fully enclosed and the crane was dismantled earlier this month. This exciting mixed-use project includes a residential rental tower with community facilities in the podium.
Fun fact: due to the slender triangular plan of the 41 story tower a tuned mass damper was installed in the rooftop mechanical penthouse as pictured on the last image. It will reduce the amount of sway felt within the upper levels of the building during high wind and seismic events! Swipe through for more shots.
Federal Funding update for our Telford project: on March 3 we were pleased to attend an announcement by the Honourable Gregor Robertson, Minister of Housing and Infrastructure and Minister responsible for Pacific Economic Development Canada alongside Wade Chang, Member of Parliament for Burnaby Central, and Dr Yufeng Wang, Owner and Founder, Baydo Group. $115.1 million of funding is being provided from the federal government, through the Apartment Construction Loan Program (ACLP). ACLP is providing low-cost financing to support more than 131,000 new rental homes across Canada by 2031 – 2032. Telford residential project includes two towers with a total of 388 homes for families, seniors, and individuals in Burnaby.
