This year we celebrated the longstanding legacy of community building and resilience of #Altadena who we must continue to support and uplift. It’s always a labor of love to bring this event together, but having Mr. Floyd Norman (Disney’s first Black animator and longstanding Altadena community member - look him up!) with us on the last day of Black History Month was special ✊🏽

ATL welcomed me home for the holidays with an action packed night of big vibes and celebration! Kicked off the night saluting my fam @bambesky (the unofficial mayor of the city) for his 40th, then made my way to the Mayor’s UNCF after ball. S/o to all the HBCU grads and movers and shakers in the city that were in the building raising the $MM’s to support the UNCF. @classic_cannon made sure the vibes were immaculate as the after ball co-chair and kept it rockin!! Got to put that ish on…party with a purpose for a stellar night w/ family and friends.
One of my greatest career accomplishments and immense honor to have a hand in celebrating Frankie Beverly with this cover story and having him on stage at Essence Festival this year for what would be his final on stage appearance. So many memories and moments tied to his musical legacy. Rest well Mr. B! 🕊️
