Happy Mother’s Day to the one that guides our ship. You are the the best Mom and Wife and Daughter and Sister and Friend all in one package because that’s what a Mother really is. She never is just a Mom. She has to be everything to everyone at all times. Maylin, I don’t know how you do it. You just continue to astonish me everyday with your kindness and charm and brilliance that you bring to every facet of Motherhood. Thank you forever for how great you are to all of us. Davis, Charley and I are the luckiest people that you are our everything!
Friday Morning my In-Laws had a horrific fire in their home. By the grace of God everyone is ok. It was an intense and terrifying moment for all of us. As grateful as we are to have our family intact we are now left with the daunting challenges of rebuilding. I am not one to ask for help but in this case I will for them. If you feel so inclined we have a GoFund Me set up. THE LINK IS IN MY BIO. We can’t thank everyone in our community enough for what has already been given and we are truly forever grateful to you everyone who has shown them such kindness and compassion.
Took the family to NYC on Valentine’s Day to walk around and get lost. We went to @artemuseum_newyork and it was a great experience. Long line to get in because I guess everyone else had the same idea but once we were in it was great and we had plenty of room to wander around. Cool immersive experience. We all enjoyed it. Not cheap but they offer a NY/NJ Resident discount on tickets. Also going during the week and not on a holiday weekend will drop the cost as well.
Here’s an end to the last year. But nothing could make me feel that this next year will be better and even more incredible than spending it with this person. The one that makes my world go round. God damn I love you. Let’s go out and make this our best year yet!
2025 TCS NYC MARATHON RECAP 3 The race itself was more than I could have expected. I had heard about the crowds and the cheers and the parties that line the race course BUT nothing anyone can tell you will prepare you for how outrageous it really is. You see how pumped I am starting on the Verrazzano Bridge! You don’t even notice the incline of Mile 1! The views are next level and the energy of the racers with helicopters buzzing by at your eye level is amazing. Then you come into Brooklyn which is where the fucking party is at!! Williamsburg almost doesn’t have any space for you to run because the people are packed into the streets. DJs, kegs, shots (I took a fireball!) and the people, it’s like running through the heat block party anyone has ever seen. Great surprise hearing “Dan Fischer!!!” out of nowhere through the crowd and turning to see my friend Noam @youdontnoam jumping and screaming for me! I felt invincible at that point and kept going to Queens. Crowds die out as you run up the Queensboro Bridge. I was unfazed because I was frantically texting with Maylin about where they were going to be stationed at mile 16 as soon as I got into the city. You can see the look on my face captured perfectly as she told me to “slow down” so they could get there! Came out to the ROAR of Manhattan and saw Melissa @itsmelissaferrara and Sara @sarakuhlman84 on my right. Was still looking for May and the kids and they weren’t where I thought they were, but I happened to look left and saw the pink sign being held up above the crowd and saw “Dad” on it. I knew it was them and I cut across the road and BOOM there they were with Davis holding up that pink sign and jumping so I could see it. Got a burst of energy from them and cruised up First Ave into the Boogie Down Bronx! Still feeling good after crossing the Willis Ave Bridge and headed back into Manhattan without bonking at miles 20-21. Kept trucking down 5th Ave where I saw my good friend Liliana @lilianashayakhmetova waiting for me with a big bottle of Coke! God I needed that! She looked at me and said “ok get out of here, 5K left!”. Continued into Central Park and saw the fam at mile 25. Continued in comment.
2025 TCS NYC MARATHON RECAP Part 2 (Deux) This was truly one of the best days. An absolutely incredible experience that I will carry with me forever. They say that the way things start is how they will finish and the start of the day was truly amazing. Get yourself a group of friends that you can share an Uber with to the start in Staten Island. Thank you Jennifer @jenncho411 for picking me up and getting us to Jamal’s house. Thank you Jamal @jamal.n.khan for scheduling the Uber pickup and for your knowledge of no need to take transportation at 4am when you can a share a ride with friends at 7am! Got to meet Prem @addictedracer who was running marathon 98 out of 100 that day! The vibes were high and energy was already great for the trip to the home of the WuTang Clan. Then as per usual with my life, we blew doors at security and walked right in with no wait and then it was straight to the runner’s village. The VIP experience didn’t end there, we all made it into the TCS VIP Tent courtesy of being great corporate clients! Warm tent, bagels, coffee and breakfast pastries everywhere! This was the way to do it. Not to mention the back of the area had the greatest views to get you motivated! You could see the start and Manhattan where you would eventually finish 26.2 miles later! By the way, nothing like a full set of Bar Mitzvah swag to show up in! More to come from the race itself in recap 3 Kit Layout

NYC MARATHON 2025 Recap 1. On December 30th 2020 I remember seeing a photo of myself with my wife and children and not recognizing the guy in the photo. I had spent that year mostly inside bored and drinking a lot. Not only was I a little shocked and disappointed in how I felt and looked but the bigger red flag to me was that I didn’t want my children to see and remember their Dad as the guy that sat around drinking all weekend. So I committed to change and an unrelenting desire to be better for myself and for them. Show them who you are! Show them what you can do! Show them what it takes to set a goal and achieve it. 5 years later, they don’t remember anything about that self medicating overweight unhappy guy, they only know the man that they watched run through the streets of New York City with a big ass smile on his face. They will never forget Sunday November 2, 2025. This is what we have to do as a parent. SHOW THEM!! Show them what it means to do hard things and achieve success by reaching your goals. Give them a reason to look up to you! They will do what they see way more than what they are told. HUGE THANK YOU goes out to @cubanitamaylin for bringing them out and all over the city so they can see me do this. You are the best and most supportive wife and friend and I am the luckiest that you put up with all my insanity and early Saturday morning long runs. Te quiero mucho!
Our weekends are increasingly less and less ours. They are more and more devoted to driving all over the tri state and spending hours on the sidelines of soccer fields. Watching these boys grow since 6 years old and seeing their development and progression has been amazing. So the hours and days and weekends and miles are all worth it. @cedarstarsacademy@nalsoccer #U11Soccer #NJYouthSoccer #USASoccer #Striker #DavisJay #DadLife #SoccerParent

6/28/13: 12 years ago today we were joined by so many friends and family in Mexico for our wedding. It was such an incredible day and start to our marriage. Fitting that we just got back from Mexico where we celebrated your 50th Birthday with so many friends and family. These past 12 years have been the best and most important years of my life and it’s all because you took a chance on a kid that wanted to take you out almost 20 years ago. Celebrating you and US always takes an entire month and this year we did it up big! May, I love you more than you will ever know. Thank you for being the best wife and friend and giving me the greatest children that anyone could ever dream for. Here’s to 50 more years of you and a lifetime of us!! Happy Anniversary on top of an incredible birthday celebration! Te Quiero Mucho Mi Amor!
