This is your reminder to get out and shootšŸŽ¬šŸŽ„! Everyone wants the massive, fully-funded feature, but nobody wants the 7pm-7am shooting schedule on a Sunday. The sun isn’t even up, the birds are just starting to chirp, but we are out here getting the reps in. If you want to move up in this industry, you have to treat your weekends like a training ground. Figure out how to light a scene when the sun is actively coming up and changing your exposure every five minutes. Learn how to block your actors. When everyone is running on zero sleep. Those quiet, freezing weekend mornings in the trenches are exactly how you build the discipline to take on the massive sets tomorrow. Stop sleeping in. Get the camera out, text your friends, and go shoot. If you’re looking to find your dream team comment where you’re from and let’s build it together! It’s time for the film student to become the film master ! #Filmmaking #Cinematography #SetLife #shortfilm #BehindTheScenes

A couple concert flicks of @onlylivin4u at @eddiesattic . First concert I’ve ever attended where I wasn’t working. Had my camera but this time it was just for fun, and honestly the edits came out really nice. It was an amazing night of worship. So blessed @itsmissnetty and I got to be in that room. Eris performed some unreleased songs and they drop in June, I’m super excited. Check slide 6 for a snippet of ā€œSOURCE.ā€ šŸ™šŸ¾

Postcards from Italy. Spent some time on Lake Como just taking it in. Walking the streets, getting lost a little, then seeing it all again from the water. It felt still. Simple. Peaceful. I’d go back in a heartbeat. Hope you feel a bit of that through these. Ax-II Italy, Summer 2025 Colored with the Vantage LUT. Coming soon. #AxII #PostcardsFromItaly #LakeComo #Cinematography #VantageLUT

Last year I started building a YouTube series called The Archive. The idea was simple. Go back and finally edit old vlogs and footage that have been sitting on my hard drives for years. Travel, behind the scenes, random moments I filmed but never released. Then add commentary explaining what was actually happening at that time in my life. I started the first episode, but pulling footage from cameras, phones, and old drives turned into a bigger project than I expected. So I shelved it for the moment. But while that series waits for the right time, I realized something. There’s another kind of archive. Over the years I’ve shot campaigns, brand work, and projects that were delivered and released for the client but never shared from my own platform. So I’m starting something alongside the YouTube series called The Archive Project. This is where I’ll post those pieces of work. Sometimes it’ll just be the campaign itself. Sometimes it’ll be BTS or a case study breaking down the vision and how we executed it. Over time it’ll become a place where people can see the journey, the growth, and the work behind it all. The first entry is already on the page. Ax-I See you yesterday. #cinematography #archives #series #directorofphotography

Hair campaign for @femmehaircare . This one was FUN. We cast across shades and hair types to reflect the women Femme creates for. The direction was high energy, playful, inviting. Flirty. Confident. Minimal set. Bold backdrop inspired by the brand’s orange tone. Bright, high-key lighting to let the talent and product breathe. We mixed personality shots with product moments. Spray toward camera. Application on braids. Texture in motion. The goal was simple, make doing your hair feel like what it should feel like — FUN. Grateful for a strong team that brought this to life. hair brand owners, stop wasting money on shoots with no plan. I’m not an ā€œexpertā€ā€¦ but I’ve photographed a lot of hair brands. The ones that last? They have strategy before they shoot. You need the basics first. Simple e-commerce photos. Hair installed. Front. Back. Side. Product shots of the bundles by themselves. Show the texture. Let customers really see what they’re buying. Then simple movement videos. Show the hair in motion. Show people it’s not stiff. You want sales… not uncertainty. Once your ecom is done, you can use that forever. Update when needed. That’s foundation content. Then you need a strong hero photo + video. What does your brand feel like? Who is it for? That’s what sets the tone. And don’t forget BTS. BTS is content too. Phone footage works. It feels real. It helps you stay consistent between big posts. People like seeing the process just as much as the final result. After all that… you need a rollout plan. Don’t post everything in one week because you’re excited. Stretch it. 2 weeks. 30 days. A quarter. Use it for socials, email blasts, text marketing, flyers, packaging. Nobody’s perfect. But a plan is better than no plan. Test. Adjust. Repeat. In this post we’re showing exactly what we did for startup brand Peachy Extensions @peachyextensions . We also helped with marketing + sales structure planning so the content actually had direction behind it. Simple e-commerce before/after. Product shots. Movement videos. Hero photo + video. No crazy 4 model production. One model. Focused shoot. Essentials only. With that content @milahooks built her full website and launched her first product, and built her marketing strategy. When you’re starting, you don’t need the works. You need the essentials. If you need that….come work with my team Photographer: @chadlawsonphotos Cinematography: @d_baconboy Production Team Casting Assistance: @biancabuildsbrands Model: @essenceloveee MUA: @millymademe Hairstylist: @_joilisab
